Michelle Obama Is One of Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed
August 5th, 2008The potential first lady gets the magazine’s style nod.
Vanity Fair magazine, in releasing its 2008 International Best Dressed List, has named possible first lady Michelle Obama among its fashionistas. Obama, the wife of presumptive democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, is the person the editors called “our commander-in-sheath.” The magazine mentions some of the standout ensembles she has worn throughout the year, including the Maria Pinto purple sheath, with a black Azzedine Alaïa belt, when her husband claimed the Democratic presidential nomination; and the Donna Ricco black-and-white print dress from her appearance on “The View.” Kanye West also made the list, which can be seen at th magazine’s just-released slide show.

Classy not trashy is what I always say. So many women miss the mark thinking that too tight is right when too tight actually means slut. Women should know the difference in fabrics and dressing for respect. Those two women trying to blast Michelle for being what she is supposed to be, a class act probably don’t know the difference between raw silk or sack cloth. Pray for them cuz ignorance knows no bounds!

I’m 54 and Michele dresses like a lady….I love it. I like that Kennedy style. While some Black folks love Patti La Belle attire and I have always found it a bit too much for me. I love fashion and I’m low keyed like Michelle. Halle Berry is low keyed she does not over do it. That is why she is recognized on the red carpet…no black toe polish or body hanging out…fesh and clean. Looking good Michelle and making Blacks and Whites proud.
I’m happy that Mrs. Obama was voted best dress in Vanity Fair. That’s a honor. Michelle Obama is a beautiful woman, who is very classy and supportive of her husband and kids. She’s not Halle Berry, but she is pretty
in a sophisticated way. The late Jackie Kennedy Onassis, was not a sex
symbol like Marilyn Monroe, but Jackie was classy and her dress suits were
sharp. That’s the symbol, a potential first Lady have to dress. Congrads, Mrs.
Obama!

Michelle doesn’t need Vanity Fair to validate that she is a great dresser. We all know and see MIchelle Obama has elite taste in clothing. Go Obama 2008!

As a young black brother I want to personally say that I am so proud of Michelle Obama; she looks great and carries herself very professionally……I hope this helps to restore the image once known for black women…..classy, stylish and just simply beautiful….No more “Thug Image or acting.”
