Appreciate who you are and your gifts and talents. You should never let people have that much control over you that you feel like you have to lie to protect your rep. It is a whole lot of other things for people to look down on than having a baby without being married. I was not married when I had my first child and I was scared of how people would react but I had to take a look at my self. A real fan will appreciate your gifts and talents without looking down on you because of something that they don’t agree with.

She lied because she panicked. We all do it just like we all make decisions that we regret later. This just shows that no matter how much money you make or how much of a celebrity you are, we are all human and make mistakes just like the next one. We all bleed when you cut us and have to have oxygen to breathe. So for all of y’all that used to be fans and are no longer fans because of this, you need to take a look at yourself and think about those times that you did stupid stuff that nobody understood but you.

You should never let anyone control or determine how you feel about yourself. If the media turned on you just because of you being an unwed mother, they weren’t true fans anyway. You should be proud of who you are and your accomplishments. If that’s not enough for them then %@@~% em’. You are beautiful and talented and I bet your child is just as beautiful. I have been a fan since the beginning and will continue to be a fan. Who you marry and your sexuality has no bearing on that. Hold your head up and be happy with who you are. You don’t have to fake nothing for nobody because you are your own person. Ultimately, you have to be the one to take care of your child and you and your child will be the ones to live with whatever choices you make.

Brandy made a mistake; she lied about being married because she was EMBARRASSED to be pregnant. In the realm of right and wrong; embarrassment would be the appropriate response for unwed mothers. Not putting down unwed mothers cause a lot of us either are one or were raised by one. No shame or ridicule either but at least act like you know better. At least Brandy realized that unwed motherhood is NOT a status symbol to be obtained by all single black women.

I lost all respect for Brandy after it was revealed she lied about being married. There are a lot of single mother’s who are excellent role models as well as mothers. If anything you could of shown a lot of young unwed mothers that they can still achieve there dreams and goals. And you were all on Oprah just lying. You lied to Oprah. The only reason the world found out was because your fake ass husband went on a radio show and said that you two were never married. There are a lot of role models that make mistakes, but you know what they get up and dust themselves off. A real woman would of done that. Not lied because she was embarrassed. To me you were putting down all the unmarried mothers out here, because you did not want to be considered as one of them. You was a grown ass woman or your case girl when you got pregnant not a teenager. I would of had a lot more respect for you if you just would of came clean instead of lying to your fans, which I use to be. Which would of said to me that you are only human, and yes role models make mistakes. I could forgive that instead of you lying. At least Solonge Knoweles did not lie about being married.
