When most people think about Black Muslims, Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam is the first thing that comes to mind. But it’s the Muslim American Society and its leader, Imam Warith Deen Mohammed, that is widely believed to have the largest following among African Americans. This past weekend, thousands of Black Muslims converged on Detroit for an annual convention, which met in Michigan for the first time in more than 10 years. Metro Detroit has one of the largest Muslim populations in America . Mohammed is the son of the Elijah Muhammad, the longtime leader of the Nation of Islam, who died in 1975. After his father died, Mohammed took over the Black Nationalist organization and retooled group’s message, downplaying racial separatism and preaching orthodox Islam. “He’s a superb leader,” said Nadir Ahmad, 58, of Detroit , told The Detroit Free Press “He has a sober message of good morals, but also a commonsense approach to life and religion.” Ahmad said Mohammed “has always called for cooperation between faiths.”
MAN..I bet the Government had plants all around that meeting ! They should have debuged the place before they started doing anything. I love the clean life style Muslims promote one day I will go to a meeting to hear some words of wisdom and maybe come of with a few new friends.

I always love hearing Louis Farrakhan speak and I have much respect for the discipline displayed by the Muslim community.
iam honered and overwhemed by the patients of Allah and his flowers for all of us black americans that need a birhting experience in finding the truth that came to us in the teachings of the Honerables of the nation of Islam. I ask all the brothers and sisters of the nation and most importantly Allah himself to forgive me for not fully understanding the teachings of Islam as i do now and hope my past and present experience can guide me to the place that Allah would be pleased. It was indeed Allah that gave me a vision of our people starting here in Detroit a work that could only be done and can be done by our unity and love for Allah and our people. could i get a reply with guidence f rom a true beliver that can help me?
