National News: Police Find Four Dead, Decomposing Children In D.C. House; Police Say Black Man Hung Noose At Conn. Nursing Home

They came to serve an eviction notice, but U.S. Marshals stumbled unto an unbelievable scene at a Southeast Washington, D.C. home – four decomposed bodies – all believed to be children, ages 5 to 18. U.S. Marshals say they were met at the door by an adult woman, who has not been identified, who led them into the house. What they saw next was unbelievable – bodies so badly decomposed, they could not be identified. D.C. Police officers were quickly called to the scene just before 10 a.m. and began investigating. “There were no signs of forced entry,” D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said at a news conference Wednesday afternoon. “Because of the state of the bodies found inside, it is going to take us some time to verify the identification of these children and verify the cause and manner of death.” Lanier said the bodies had been at the home for at least two weeks. Police say they are investigating this case as a homicide. The woman, who led police into the house, was taken into custody for questioning.

Greenwich, Conn., Police say that it was a Black man who put a noose over the desk of a Hispanic co-worker at a nursing home, and they are issuing a warrant for his arrest. “An African-American co-worker admits to hanging it over the desk,” Police Chief David Ridberg told The Stamford Advocate, referring to the noose. A week before Christmas, officers were called to e Connecticut Health of Greenwich nursing facility to investigate a possible hate crime, Ridberg said. It didn’t take long for officers to come up with a suspect. “The African-American co-worker admits it was a joke, admits to hanging it over the pipe over the desk,” Ridberg said. But the worker’s “joke” couldn’t have come at a worse time, considering that police reported the incident to the FBI, which has been looking into a spate of noose-hangings across Connecticut. In the months following the Sept. 20 rally in Jena, La., at which tens of thousands of activists lit on the tiny town to protest the harsh prosecution of six Black teens who were arrested for a schoolyard fight with a White classmate. Three of the nooses investigated by police were found at the Royal Bank of Scotland project in Stamford and were directed toward Black workers, officials say. Gov. M. Jodi Rell has condemned the incidents and vowed to get to the bottom of the crimes. Connecticut describes a hate crime as any attempt to intimidate or harass another person because of the victim’s “actual or perceived race, religion, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity or expression,” the Advocate reports. “This does not fit any sort of pattern with the other crimes reported around the state,” he said. “This was the use of a bias symbol, a bigoted symbol, so we’re naturally concerned about it, but it doesn’t appear to be part of an organized effort to racially intimidate people.” How do you think police should handle the nursing home case?

BLACK MAN HANGING A NOOSE- 1st Negroes(not Black People)refer to each other as n@##ers, & now negroes are repeating another stupid racist act on each other, by hanging a noose. I wish & pray to GOD, that a time machine will be built, & every negro(not smart enough to be Black)would be forced to travel back 500 years ago, & endure what our African Ancestors had to.
In no way do I condone what this man did with the noose, but my question is why wasn’t the FBI called in Jena when the white students hung their nooses. I agree with these things being hate crimes, but be fair about it.

I think that it should be handeled the same as if a white man had done the same thing. As much as we as Black people have had to put up with, I can’t believe this fool would do this and claim it to be a joke.
Bodies Found – who knows what happened in that apartment. People are living on the edge these days living in poverty, with no health insurance, no hope and their minds just go. We must keep this world in prayer and for the new President that he/she will shed some light of hope to the American people.
Noose Hanging – He should be fired!
To those that want more news about the kids in DC, the thing is nobody suspected anything because the mother withdrew the kids from school and at the same time she put all of her furniture out in the yard and told everyone that the kids were being home schooled and they were moving to MD. The problem with that is, how would anyone suspect anything. If you withdraw your kids from school, it’s no longer the school system to track your children. Then when she told someone that she was moving to MD none of her neighbors suspected anything because they hadn’t heard from them in a while. And she had furniture sitting in her yard. So it is quite easy for no one not to notice. Especially in a ghetto neighborhood as the one she lived in. So many little kids running around if I see furniture on the yard and don’t see kids for about 1.5 months, looks like an eviction so they don’t worry themselves about it.
They still haven’t confirmed if this woman that answered the door to the house is the mother of the kids but the neighbors say it is. And the fact that the knife was sitting next to them and all were laying in the same position on the floor in one bedroom. This braud was on something. The meanest person in the world wouldn’t do anything like this. SHe has some demonic forces working in her and she needs to be put away and delivered.
Also, the Child Protective Service Dept. said they had an encounter last May that turned out unsuccessful because they were told that the family had moved to MD. So the address that they had for the family, they gave to the jurisdiction in MD for them to handle the case which is standard procedures. So it appears that this woman must have kept them in that house for a long time without letting them out and then she killed them. The initial report says that they were dead a minimum of 15 days or more.
my heart hurts for the souls of the children frist for someone to commit such a evil act and then then for the children to go missing and no one to notice its sickening LORD HELP US ALL
I CAN’T QUITE FIGURE OUT HOW, IN ANY WAY, HE THOUGHT THAT WAS FUNNY. THAT JUST GOES TO SHOW HOW IGNORANT PEOPLE CAN BE. I THINK THE AUTHORITIES SHOULD TREAT IT ACCORDINGLY, IF IT FALLS UNDER A HATE CRIME, THEN HE JUST HAS TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES. WE AS PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS FOOLISH ACT SO THAT IT WON’T CONTINUE.
IF IT IS TRUE THAT THIS MOTHER MURDERED HER CHILDREN, SHE NEEDS PRAYER. IT’S OBVIOUS THAT SOMETHING IS PSHYCOLOGICALLY WRONG WITH THIS LADY AND SHE NEEDS HELP. I’M NOT SURE IF GIVING HER THE DEATH PENALTY WILL SOLVE ANYTHING BECAUSE THAT’S PROBABLY WHAT SHE WANTS. THESE CHILDREN ARE NOW IN A BETTER PLACE: MAY GOD REST THEIR SOULS.

I hate any racial-based injustice, whether it is race-related miscarriage which sends a black youth into the prison system for a 1st offence of a minor crime, or hte reverse discrimination that favors any race over another.
That is the only reason that I would not like to see that Afro-American get horse-whipped in public for hanging that noose over his co-worker’s desk. If he wants to play jokes on co-workers, maybe he should stick to “kick me” signs and whoopee cushions.
I wonder how many blacks use nooses to conjure images of discrimination and win this evil game of professional office politics?

I think the joke was terrible and should not have been done. Hanging a noos is not joke, black people have had enough of that centuries ago, so to do that to someone else is terrible. The man who hung the noos should get a fine for that terrible act.
This kind of thing is why that old saying am I my Brothers keeper comes into play. To think that a black person could do something like this is just stupid, but think about it folks we as blacks are doing some really stupid things, in these days and times. This Brother should be changed the same as anyone else. We can never call this can of action a joke, check your history Black People, it was only a few years ago were a young Black man was found hanging from a tree, so for anyone to think it’s just a joke, they need to wake up. More Black Children lost why? and who should be blamed? the Mother who is Mentally Ill the Father, or Fathers who where not around, the System who. Well it do not matter now these three little grails and there big Sister are gone, and if we think about it a little we all are at fault
a little how many times be we see a Sister trying hard to rise Children by her self and we all just turn our heads and look the other way. My Sisters and my Brothers we have got to go back to being the kind of race that we were in the 50’s and 60’s, a race of Black people who looked out for each other, a race were we were our Brothers and our Sisters keepers. This should have never happen, and do not have to happen again anywhere to another member of our race or any other race if we open our eyes and see when some one is asking for help, all we have to do is just help. So my Sisters and my Brothers the next time you need some help ask for it, and the next time we think or see that some one needs some help do that and just help, it will not hurt a bit, and you never know you may be saving a life. From this day on make a pledge to help some one who needs help if you can, just a little bit of help will mean so much to that person who really needs help. Like that saying go’s JUST DO IT, JUST HELP SOME ONE WHO NEEDS HELP, you will be blessed more then you know. Think about it my Brothers and my Sisters we never know when we will be in need of some help, and I know that we would want someone to be there for us if we needed help. Stand tall and Help.
