My brother and I attended Ludlum School from Kindergarten through 8th grade and lived across from the school on William Street from 1950-1980. We are NY natives, Hempstead natives, white, educated, and thrilled that Barack Obama is our 44th President. My family voted for him and we are proud to have this man named after the school where our educations began back in the 1950s. We pray to God to give him the insight, strength and endurance for the difficult tasks he has before him for the next 4-8 years.

Ludlum sounds like hoodlum? Your ignorance is showing. Ludlum School was named for Charles Ludlum; a prominent doctor who was school board president of the Hempstead district for 38 years. He died in 1930. By the way, Charles Ludlum was Caucasian.
