Seven Family Members Found Dead
Seven family members were found murdered in a Los Angeles-area home Tuesday in what appears to be a massive murder-suicide, The Los Angeles Times reports. Los Angeles Police Officer Sam Park told CNN that authorities responded to a call of a shooting and discovered the bodies of five children and two adults. The ages of the residents was not released, but all of the children were under the age of 10, the Times reports. All seven family members were shot to death inside the home, apparently by the children’s father, police told the newspaper. After calling the news media, the man reportedly turned the gun on himself, according to the Times. The news media in turn called the police, the Times reports.
Woman Gives Birth to Eight
A Southern California mom gave birth to eight healthy babies Monday. The unidentified mother had six boys and two girls weighing between 1 pound, 8 ounces, and 3 pounds, 4 ounces, The Associated Press reports. Three of the octuplets are still getting small doses of oxygen through their noses, but all of them appear to be doing well, according to Dr. Mandhir Gupta, a neonatologist at the Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center. “All babies were delivered vigorous, crying, kicking. Everyone was very excited,” said Dr. Karen E. Maples, chief of service for obstetrics and gynecology and the physician who personally delivered Baby No. 8. The eighth baby surprised the parents and doctors who had prepared to deliver seven children. “It is quite easy to miss a baby when you’re anticipating seven,” said Dr. Harold Henry, chief of maternal and fetal medicine and one of 46 doctors, nurses and assistants who delivered the children by Caesarean section. This is only the second group of live octuplets born in the United States, according to AP.
Jazz Legend Lands on D.C. Coin
Jazz legend Duke Ellington has a new home – he now lives on the newly minted quarter. The 25-cent piece honoring Washington, D.C., is the latest coin released by the U.S. Mint. The quarter, with native Washingtonian Duke Ellington, is inscribed with the city’s motto, “Justice for all.” Last year, the U.S. Mint rejected designs from the District of Columbia that included the slogan “Taxation Without Representation,” a reference to the fact that D.C. residents pay taxes but have no representation the U.S. House or Senate. Those interested can buy bags of up to 1,000 quarters. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D.C.’s non-voting member of the House, said that a gala to celebrate the new Duke Ellington coin will be announced soon. I will keep the family in my prayers. People, all over the US are loosing their jobs. The Social Service agency’s that are supposed to help are loosing money to help. These agencies take you through hell and usually find a way not to help. Jobs are using their employees to do the work of 3, 4 people with no pay at all. Staff is being treated badly and talked to disrespectfully because these companies feel there is no where for you to go. We all need our jobs for those of us who still have one. The stress level is so bad that people are going to the doctor (or should I say emergency rooms) more and more. We still have the racism going on. It will not get better especially since President Obama is in the white house. We need laws that are for the consumer. No man should die in his home by freezing to death because he owed $1,000 on his electric bill, but they did. I understand that it is a painful death to freeze to death. Why aren’t these CEO’s (AIG, Wall Street, etc. etc.) Why are they still living well and a man shoots himself, his wife and 5 kids. Bosses can treat you anyway they want to. Slavery still exists. I will continue to pray for us all, but if things do not change, and you don’t punish the people who are responsible for this mess, I’m afraid more instances like this may happen. Keep praying folks. At least for those that believe and try to walk in Faith.

Awww poor babies!!! I feel so bad OMG!!!! I cant believe that someone can be so cruel and evil as this man was and take the lives of God’s Children! I am going to pray every night for those children and the family!!!! GOD BLESS!!!!
This tragedy doesn’t make sense. Why killed your entire family because of your misery and downfall?. Sadly we will never know what made this man snap. My prayers condolences are with this surviving family members. When it involves innocent children, it heartbreaking.
This is sooooo sad, I’m for sure there cld have been a better way. JESUS help us!!!

yesterday afternoon in the ATL after stating that this family had Atlanta ties Ryan Cameron (V103) got on the radio and read a letter that was allegedly left by the father of the family of 7 that stated his logic for his reaction (of course there’s no justifing this) yesterdays show can probably be found on youtube
I am sitting here crying, it shows that people of this world think money a house a job is the only way, material, i lost my job of 21 years went from $45,000 a year to food stamps, I feel they didnt even try, so I guess that apartments, food stamps, section 8 was beneath them, i had a nervous breakdown single two kids, but i made it, it is a shame.
This is outragous…. What is the world tuning into

This is so sad why this evil man takes his childrens lives for? they were not ask to be here or to be in this situation. All they wanted to do is live life and to be happy idk what caused this father to do this but my prayers goes out to this family and God bless these childrens soul.

the reason he did this is beacuse he & his wife got fired from their jobs @ kaiser, & the economy screwed them over. i dont agree with what he did but that is the reason why he did it… this is a sad story.
