NFL Chief to Decide on Vick’s Fate
September 3rd, 2009NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to announce this week when Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will be permitted to play during the regular season. Shortly after Vick was released from federal prison, after 18 months on dogfighting charges, the commissioner conditionally reinstated Vick. That allowed Vick to play in the final two preseason games. His upcoming decision will determine when the speedy lefty is back for good. Earlier, Goodell said he might not permit Vick back until the sixth game of the regular season, which means that the Philadelphia Eagles would be compelled to put him on the exempt list. This would preclude Vick from practicing and thus retard his flow back into productive, full-time pro football. The Philadelphia Eagles, which must cut its roster to 53 players by Saturday evening, say it is imperative to know when Vick will be allowed back. The team signed the former Atlanta Falcon to a two-year contract, worth close to $7 million. However, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello denied ESPN reports that the commissioner would decide this week. “I don’t know when the commissioner will make his decision,” Aiello said. “He hasn’t told me yet.” Vick will play in tonight’s final exhibition game, against the New York Jets, at Giants Stadium.

Can’t decide when he will play regular season, but decided to SELL his shirts, etc., on NFL.com the same day he signed the contract, go figure. It’s all about the NFL making money off of the players.
I am so happi that they r letting Vick bck into the game everyone makes mistakes there isnt anyone on this earth is perfect and they shouldnt wait til the 6th game to let him play regular season.Im praying for u MV and good luck tonight….I will be watchin the game…..
He paid his dues, let the man go back to work doing what he knows. I think it is terrible how is being jerked around, I am not in any saying what he contributed was right, but according to the law he has been punished financially and mentally. If
Just let the man play. He’s done his time. If these hard core criminals like murderes, rapists, child molesters and the lot are micro-managed when they get released, maybe there wouldn’t be any repeat offenders.
The Chinese are having dogs for lunch..dailey, here we are sending men to jail for dog fighting. He (Vick) could have been rehabilitated in other ways…give me a break
