President Obama, after enjoying astronomical approval ratings in the early months of his administration, now finds that public adoration is slipping. Six months into the job – and just when he needs the most love from the public and fellow lawmakers to win approval for his controversial health-care reform – his support on the issue has dipped below the 50 percent threshold for the first time, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll reveals. When it comes to the economy and the behemoth federal budget, the president’s ratings also have dipped in recent weeks. The slide seems to reflect rising concerns over spending and the dismal job picture. Only about 51 percent of Americans say they approve of the way he is handling the job situation. New figures shows that the unemployment rate is now in double digits, 10 percent, in some 15 states and Washington, D.C. Obama’s overall approval rating is at 59 percent; about 37 percent of the public say they are not happy with the job he’s doing.

The Democrats’ solution is to tax-andspend. The President promises not to impose taxes on those of the middle class. Only fools believe this. We are having new taxes imposed and with the insane so-called climate problems for which we are stupid enough accept the blame, we will pay dearly when we turn on the heat on cold nights. I was anti-Obama before it was cool.
I agree with Joanne’s comment. COME ON PEOPLE WAKE UP! The last President got us in this mess and it stayed that way for 8 years and it got increasingly worst his last year of office. President Obama can only work with what he’s got and he tells people all the time these problems can’t be fixed overnight. He’s got a lot of opposition, not only because he’s Black, but people are looking for an instant fix and IT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN. I think he’s trying really hard but he doesn’t need us, the people that voted him in, to let him down right now.

Just imagine how worser it WOULD have been; the unemployed rate, economy troubles, healthcare, and foreclosers, etc……..would be tripple the amount it is now if Mccain and Palin were in office.

If McCain was in charge we wouldnt be in as bad a mess as we have now. I think there would still be some unemployment, but not double digits. Obama promised the change and he said it would happen as soon as he got into office. So he lied, we still in iraq and afganinstan, nobody is getting new jobs. Right now Im not voting for him again. With the last president, at least we were getting stimulus checks. Obama doesnt want that saying that our govt can spend the money smarter than we can. I guess hes calling everyone stupid and yall agree. Think again before you vote based on him being black and looking past the fact that he was unqualified.

I for one am not buying his national health plan, I don’t think it is going to work. We will end up like Canada with people being on long waiting list for medical attention. No offense to illegal aliens but if we stop providing them with free money and health care, we could use that extra money to help our own legal citizens.
Give him some time jeez! He ain’t Jesus, and he SAID it would take some time to turn the economy around. People in general are just negative nowadays and want someone to blame for their problems. Why even post this article, I mean, is it truly productive to publicize negativity?
iam Zimbabwean living in England, i think Mr Obama is doing a great job, b4 he took office i was anti-america but now thr is hope for black pple & Africa. i urge those who believe in him not to believe the so called “POLLS”, political channels LIE, give Mr Obama half a chance pliz.

I’m so proud of President Obama. He is doing a great job as our Commander in Chief. He has done more for us in the 6 months that he has been in office than any other president we have ever had in the 4 or 8 years they were in office.
