Obama Accepts Wilson’s Apology

Maybe Rep. Joe Wilson’s apology for calling President Obama a liar on national TV didn’t feel that sincere, but President Obama accepted it anyway. Obama, choosing to focus on getting a health care reform bill passed by Congress, said that he was pleased that Wilson, an avowed anti-Obamaist, had apologized “quickly and without equivocation.” It was during the president’s address to the joint session of Congress that Wilson shouted “You Lie!” as Obama explained that his proposal would not cover those in the United States illegally. Even members of Wilson’s own Republican Party expressed embarrassment over the outburst, and several of them prompted the four-term South Carolina representative to say he was sorry. “This evening I let my emotions get the best of me,” he said in a statement. “While I disagree with the president’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility.” But then, a seemingly not-so-sorry Wilson noted that his comments were “spontaneous.” Offered Wilson, “It was when he (Obama) stated, as he did, about not (health care insurance) not covering illegal aliens … We need to discuss the issues and I’m happy to do that.” But Obama chose to focus on health care, saying, “We all make mistakes.” The president’s decision to let the matter go is perhaps what led to fellow Democrats in Congress dropping the issue. “It’s time for us to talk about health care, not Mr. Wilson,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. It remains to be seen whether his “spontaneous” remarks will cost him politically. Already, his Web site crashed, following the quip, and both Republicans and Democrats Twittered him to a pulp about what they deemed objectionable behavior. “I was embarrassed for the chamber and a Congress I love,” Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “It demeaned the institution.”

Why he be apologizing when he be telling the truth about obama. obama be alrite, but he had done lied to us from the beginning. 1 No stimulis check, 2 no reparations, 3 aint nuttin change, 4 he said no pork on the bills he passed and all them billions went to acorns and other people who seek to profit from us. He lied to everybody and this man had to guts to tell him to his face, I would too. Us black still be poor and obama aint gonna do nuthhin for us, I got 3 babies and all 3 of they dads aint got no money and dont show up no more because of how hard it is these days that obama has been running things. We need a woman president…now on the quick!
Wow, I guess you voted for Obama and now you are upset? I may disagree with the President on some issues, but I have enough sense to realize that he cant do anything without the approval of Congress. We live in a Democratic Society not an anarchy or dictatorship…See in those countries where one man runs the show, I could see you saying “he lied”…sure Obama may want to do things but hey if the Congress shoots him down then it is what it is. I agree with rtd86, no one told you to have three babies, by three different men. He has nothing to do with your past sexual life, that was your decision. You need to handle your babies daddies, not him. Sounds like to me that you need to go back to school and receive a little more about government and how it works. If he can’t get everyone to approve, then he can’t get it done. Instead of saying that he lied, why don’t you support him. It took us eight years to get like this, it is not an over nite process. Stop worring about the baby daddies and worry about you….
One thing i have a problem with is that people expect everything from one person, Obama is not doing this by himself. The government is a system and if people would participate with local and state government they would know what’s going on state to state. From personal experience, in a black community how many people are involved with local and state which eventually those problems from state make it to Washington. Do people care who they put into the seats of Congress or is it only the seat in the Oval Office that we care about? Checks and Balances. rtd86 is right…if you payed attention in middle and high school, you’d understand some things will never go the way the President promises or wants because some states are pushing against him and therefore the people that are active in the democratic process will be heard unlike those who complain about it.

One more thing…I wish people wouldn’t type how they speak. It doesn’t make sense, people, black people, typing something and using slang when they want to get their point across. Makes it as if you aren’t saying something of importance, especially in the white world.

That’s not true, when the Dixie Chicks (or whoever they were) said something about former President Bush, it was like the whole world stopped. I think the die hard Bush supporters should know how Obama supporters feel about their President, some comments about someone in power should be kept to themselves, and when they aren’t there should be an apology. Should learn that “If you can’t say something nice…don’t say anything at all.” applies, and it’s not because he’s black, it’s because he deserves the same respect as we try to give anyone else.
Hope you all understand that.

When Bush was in office reading books to our children upside down I hope people didn’t think that was a good thing, or when he stood aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln when he gave the speech May 1.2003 and said Mission Accomplish he meant that, are when he looked out of those Binoculars with the lens cover still on them and said the borders all secured that he meant that either. This man has left this Country in such bad shape and President Obama has only been in office a little over 8 months at the most and people are upset? get out of here.
