There are two things that congress can do: 1) congress can pass a tax bill with a rate of 90%. 2) The next bailout money (if they receive more at all) should be shorted by the same amount AIG paid out.
I have been working for 35 years straight and never heard of people who ruin a company receiving a bonus;I always thought a bonus was a reward for a job well done. If this is a “retention” bonus my question is why are these employees being retained when the should be FIRED ? The thing that is not right is many receiving a bonus are no longer with AIG.

How come normal working people are getting fired, layed off, forloughed, etc… and the unemployment rate is so high and employed people are being asked to do more with no raise or bonus in sight (most people are grateful to have jobs) while people who have done a terrible job (and helped to wreck our economy) are getting a bonus? Where is the incentive in that? What does that do to the work ethic?

How I am guaging success for the Obama administration is their ability to “root out” and help expose the major pepetrators of financial waste and corruption! It is those persons who have had the capacity for decades to get away with manipulating millions and billions of dollars: the Bernie Madoffs and the high powered executives of comapanies such as AIG. I wonder why they were not exposed under President Bush’s watch? President Obama promised to help get rid of waste and corruption in our government during his campaign. Go President Obama!
