Obama Camp Dismisses Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson Inauguration Rumors

Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson

Obama camp dismisses Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson inauguration rumors. Beyoncé fans need not take out the claws just yet. The rumor circulating that she’s been beat out by Jennifer Hudson again isn’t true, says the Barack Obama camp. Apparently, speculation about Obama’s hometown connection to Hudson in Chicago mushroomed into word that the singer was asked to perform at Obama’s Jan. 20 presidential inauguration. Be, who was upstaged by Hudson’s Oscar win after they both appeared in the film Dreamgirls, expressed interest in singing at the White House. “An inauguration committee hasn’t even been formed yet,” says an Obama spokesman. No decision has been made about who’ll sing at the event, the rep says. Meanwhile, Hudson is still mourning the recent unsolved murders of three family members.

…I think we are all forgetting the greater issue..We should be making sure that Obama is safe and secure..And that he knows that we all support him…And not worry about who is gonna sing…IT IS MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES AT HAND!!!

tracie Said on

I think that there should not even be competition between them and the media is probably the reason why everyone think that their is. How come more than one person cannot sing anyway? Such childish conversation here.

Danielle, (about 8 comments up)
Everyone is obviously not tired of hearing Beyonce or else she would not draw so many fans or be asked to open so many events. Also, you do not know if when Beyonce wrote those “men doing wrong songs’ if they were inspired by a fight or situations that she had with JayZ or not. Please consider that your assumptions could be dead wrong.

Our 44th president, This is History!

I would like to see women who all paved the way, like Areatha Franklin,
Patty Labelle, Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, etc. I can’t name all of the men & females, Groups who help make history! in th 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, that are still living to see our first Black President Barack Obama. Inauguration 1/20/09. I like the young R&B females Beyounce, Alicia,Jenifer, etc. But, Our President Barack & 1st Lady Michelle Obama
are both old school. With some R&B hiphop 2000-08 . Let them pick some one who help make History!!!

I would like to start out by saying congratulations to Barack Obama for being elected as our 44th President. To all the people who are leaving bad remarks about Beyonce I say to you it is truly uncaused for. I myself personally like them both and agree that they both have talent. To down this African American sister and call her a tramp and only focus on her “booty shaking” as you say is plain out stupid. We as a country should be embracing each other and not “hating” on each others accomplishments. I ask you “Is this the dream that Martin Luther King or even Barack Obama had in mind?” And in all honesty does it really matter who sings at the event as long as when the door closes at the White House the person sitting behind the desk calling the shots is a powerful African American man by the name of Barack Obama.

President-Elect Obama represents the United States of America and I believe he will choose the best singer or entertainer no matter what ethnic background they are. We finally have a President who represent us all! Get use to it!

Buckskin Beauty Said on

Come on People let’s squash this whole nonsense. The right person to sing for such an historic event is Marvin Sapp. Because we never would have made it without GOD on our side, through the whole American History.
BET, do a vote poll, for Marvin Sapp, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, and Beyonce. Although, Beyonce did sing for Bush inauguration, so it really would not be right for her to be involved.

rere Said on

Personally does it matter who sings at the event? I mean you all are downing people because of something you HEARD AND READ on the news…this is how alot of celebs get bad names because of the media. He can have Michael Jackson perform at his event for all I care i’m just thankful we all are getting a chance to experience this history in our lifetimes. God bless you all

HELLO B HATERS Said on

Hey PP you really know B is totally better and if you are truely a fan of B you would always be supportive. She is always well put together and I would love to hear her sing even better they could do a DUET REALLY NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL OF US TO COME TOGETHER . LETS NOT START FIGHTING OVER 2 OF OUR GREAT SINGERS. IT WOULD BE A HONOR TO HEAR BOTH LADIES SING A DIFFERENT SONG OR A DUET.

Listen, Beyonce is not the one for a very important event even though she is pretty too but it would be better for jennifer hudson to do it she is just starting a career and Beyonce already is famous and have one.conservative is what the event needs not shaking and moving on around. Jennifer Hudson is more like Gospel Soul and R&B. Don’t get me wrong i love Beyonce and her music and dancing but I also love Jennifer Hudson she has that Gospel Spiritual Voice. You Guys watch after all the madness with her family being murdered, SHE’S GOING GOSPEL YALL! GOD IS GOING TO CALL HER TO SING GOSPEL!!!

jealom Said on

I think Jennifer should sing ,she has the best voice I have ever heard, she has the voice of Patti Label and Shirely Ceasar all in one. It really would be special to hear JHud sing after all she’s gone through. MY VOTE IS JHUD!!

Ms. Lou Said on

WBeyonce’s look is not suitable for the White House. Proud and educated black women do not wear blond wigs and super tight outfits.

educated Said on

Okay, Everybody that is on here hating on Be needs to go sit down somewhere. She is a hell of an artist and performer. Dont knock her just cause she wants to be a part of one of the most historical days in history. And I’m sure that she wont be performing one of her own songs at the ceremony so there wont be any need for “booty shaking”. They are both r&b singers that will sing what they are told to at the ceremony. And plus Jen is still mourning, let her mourn!!!! And beside all of this irrelevant bull, who is singing at the ceremony is NOT the biggest issue. Honestly, f who is singing, the issue is this, MY BLACK PRESIDENT IS BEING INAUGURATED!!!! Seriously black ppl, we gotta stay focused and realize what is important in our lives!!!!!!!

moor 18039031 Said on

Hey black people stop worrying who sings, trust me the right person will get the job. Lets focus on whether Obama is going to get in there and do as he says, and stop trying to bring Drama to these girls, They both are god Gifted Children so look at it this way ,GODS WAY .
