Obama Invites Civil Rights Pioneers to Inauguration
December 15th, 2008

Obama invites civil rights pioneers to inauguration. President Barack Obama’s Inauguration Committee has extended invitations to the nine people who desegregated Central High School in Little Rock, Ark., more than a half-century ago and the surviving members of the African-American World War II flying aces, known as the Tuskegee Airmen. The civil rights pioneers, now elderly, will be able to witness something that seemed an impossibility not that long ago – the swearing in of the nation’s first African-American president. But 67-year-old Elizabeth Eckford, who was just 16 when she became a part of civil rights history in Arkansas, said she can’t afford the money to make the trip.

Iam so proud of Obama, they are going to fine every thing they can to put obama out before he get in office. Have you look at the news lately i was just waiting for the media to try and fine something on him . there were 60% white votes and 40% black votes but there are still a lot of people that did not want him in there. I will keep you obama in my prayers! God bless and good luck.

as a mexican american born in 1948 in west texas in a little town called la mesa, texas, I still remember those horrible evil times of racisim, discrimination and segregation by the old jim crow system, we were treated just like black people were treated, we picked cotton for a penney a pound and chopped cotton for 50 cents an hour, the black civil right movement also liberated us from those white evil people that treated us worst than animals, black people have every right to celebrate, and even bragg about voting for a black president, I know I`m very happy I voted for obama

We can’t be mad at David! Yes he has issues, but we have issues, too. Since President Obama has been elected as president my people has been sending me texts that have racial comments as well and emails! Yes, we should be proud of this historic moment! But not ignorant with the dumb little racial comments. It’s not funny to me when I get those dumb texts and emails. Let’s stop stooping down to David and others level. Let’s stand tall and proud like Obama and represent the Black African American and all Black Races! In decency and in order! “WE HAVE OVERCOME”!

GOD is truly to be Praised! It is overwhelmingly heart-felt! I too, didn’t think I would see the day, though I never accepted it couldn’t happen. I am ecstatic for those that have survived, so much of the hands on anguish and cruel and unusual punishment for taking a stand! The number 8 the number of new beginnings, we have arrived and I not only plan to be a part of the changes I look forward to the awesome journey! GOD THE Father continue to Bless the President-elect Obama and his awesome First Lady Michelle and their children in Jesus precious name, as well as all the world.
To my baby DAVID. Honey, I don’t care if your famous for being Ignorant At least your famous. You need a real man by your side and thats ME!
LONG JOHN SILVER!
It was a wonderful day when Barack Obama became the first black president of America. Lets remember that this is Gods during not just the people. We as a nation have come along way but we still have along way to go to become as one. There will be alot nuts that will take shots at our President, but God will prevail in this. For President elect Barack Obama to invite all the pioneers to the inauguration is a blessing, because without them all of this would not have been possible. So god Bless all
