Obama Splits With Yet Another Clergyman

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday that he was “deeply disappointed” by a supporter’s sermon at his church that mocked Hillary Rodham Clinton, The Associated Press is reporting. The Rev. Michael Pfleger, a Chicago activist, also apologized for last Sunday’s sermon at Obama’s church, in which he said Clinton’s 
eyes welled with tears before the New Hampshire primary because she felt “entitled” to the Democratic nomination and because “there’s a Black man stealing my show.” In video circulating on the Internet, Pfleger said the former first lady expected to win the nomination before Obama’s sudden popularity. (See the video below) “She just always thought that, ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife. I’m White.’ … And then, out of nowhere, came ‘Hey, I’m Barack Obama.” And she said, ‘Oh damn, where did you come from? I’m White. I’m entitled. There’s a Black man stealing my show,’” Pfleger said at Trinity United Church of Christ. He then went on to parody Clinton, sobbing and wiping his face with a handkerchief. “She wasn’t the only one crying,” he said. “There was a whole lot of White people crying.”Obama won the Iowa caucuses, the first contest of the nominating season, in January. Days later, Clinton’s eyes brimmed with tears and her voice broke as she talked with New Hampshire voters on the eve of the primary, which she won. In a statement in which he cut ties with Pfleger, Obama said, “As I have traveled this country, I’ve been impressed not by what divides us, but by all that that unites us. That is why I am deeply disappointed in Father Pfleger’s divisive, backward-looking rhetoric, which doesn’t reflect the country I see or the desire of people across America to come together in common cause.”Pfleger, the White pastor of predominantly Black Saint Sabina Roman Catholic Church on the city’s Southwest side, said he regretted his choice of words as he addressed the congregation of Obama’s church as a guest pastor Sunday. “These words are inconsistent with Senator Obama’s life and message and I am deeply sorry if they offended Senator Clinton or anyone else who saw them,” Pfleger said.Clinton’s campaign denounced Pfleger’s comments.”Divisive and hateful language like that is totally counterproductive in our efforts to bring our party together and have no place at the pulpit or in our politics,” the campaign said in a statement. Pflager previously defended the Rev. Jeremiah Wright when he was under fire for his fiery sermons. Obama recently broke with Wright, who had been his longtime pastor, after video of his sermons blaming U.S. policies for the Sept. 11 attacks and his calls of “God damn America” became fixtures on the Internet and cable news networks and created a political problem for the candidate. Pfleger, known locally as a community activist and organizer, was arrested in June 2007 with the Rev. Jesse Jackson during a protest outside of a south suburban Chicago gun shop. The criminal trespass charges were later dropped.
I like Obama, but he has to do what he has to do to secure his place. He doesn’t really want to distnace himself from the ministers buth their words are used as ammunition against his campaign. The things that the minister said was true, but Obama can’t run the campaign with smear tactics like the Clintons have been doing. He probably agrees totally with what the say for the most part but at this point, brute honesty has it’s price when everything is really about perception anyway.

Some of yall need to quit trippin, we all know that’s what she is thinkin that’s y she is still n the race, she doesn’t have anyway of winning and she just can’t grasp the concept that a Black man is actually beating her. If she really cared she was just back him and hope he selects her as a running mate! But seriously that’s what I think she is thinking cuz why else has she not conceded defeat esecially when its not enough delegate votes for her to get the nomination!!
I agree with some there is no need to drag a person in the mud just to get a vote we care about our country and we hope to get the right one that is to bring peace and no more wars. As for these pastor are whatever they suppose to be they need to sit down bring some dirt out of your closets. Leave people along and do whats right for the people and America.
They have never brought up Clinton pastor was convicted for 3 years for inappropriate touching of a 7 year old. They have not brought up the case that she was to testify after the election about Bill stealing money from paul. Google Paul vs Clinton.

Generally the preachers have nothing to do with Obama, but you forget one thing, the church itself needs the limelight to survive, so that the person Obama offers the best opportunity to come into the limelight out of the stupid racial matter.
It is very obvious that we as men and women of God should be praying. We do not need to get caught up into the world system. God knows what is going on and remember He is the author of all authority. Prayer is the key to all things.
We all know that everything both ministers said is true and Clinton and her supporters are only using their words to try and harm Sen. Obama.
