Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize UPDATE: Media Responds
October 9th, 2009
The nation’s first African-American President woke up Friday morning to receive another prestige honor; Nobel Prize recipient.
In what was a complete surprise to the President, the Norwegian Noble Committee awarded Obama due to his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.”
Obama is the first sitting US President to win the Nobel Peace Prize since Woodrow Wilson in 1919.
While some bloggers ask legitimately if Obama accomplished enough–with only being President for nine months–to earn the award. Of course, Obama’s political opponents are not cheering who they perceive as the first “Affirmative Action Nobel Prize Winner.”

Wow, I can think of thousands of people who deserve it more than obama. If they were giving it out just for trying and failing like obama, everybody would have the prize. I believe the nobel prize has dropped big time in value and meaning.
We still is in Irak, afganistan.
Carbomb went off in packistan
we still is poor in our own USA
He be paying off his white friends, while we is still jobless.
High class and lower class gap is widening.
What kind of Peace is that??
Is this what He got it for, cuz thats all I know that he has done. Definetely affirmative action prize!! And thats coming from yo local neegro.

Who’s fault is it that we are in “IRAK” or do you mean Iraq ? I think we need to be in Afghanistan because of the Taliban and Al-qaida. Another question is: Whose decission was it to invade Iraq and whose fault is it that bombs go off in Pakistan ?You have to understand that the problems that exist today were created during the Bush/Cheney years and they will not be solved overnight.,including job losses. One last question, who are these thousands of people who deserve the Nobel Peace Prize
What a total disgrace ! This does nothing but tarnish all the great people that won this award in the past.
