Obama’s election spurs racial crimes. Racial epithets on cars and homes, cross-burnings and children chanting “Assassinate Obama,” are among some of the incidents that make up what officials say is a rise in post-election racial incidents across the country. From Maine to California, police have clocked a range of crimes that include vandalism, at least one physical attack and vague threats. There have been “hundreds” of incidents since the election, many more than usual, Mark Potok, director of the hate-crime monitoring Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, told The Associated Press. Four North Carolina State University students admitted writing anti-Obama comments in the notorious free-speech tunnel, including one that said: “Let’s shoot that (N-word) in the head.” In fact, Obama has received more threats than any other president-elect, authorities say. In other incidents, crosses were burned in yards of Obama supporters in Hardwick, N.J., and Apolacan Township, Pa. A Black teenager in New York City said he was attacked with a bat on election night by four White men who shouted “Obama.” Racist graffiti was found in places including New York’s Long Island, where two dozen cars were spray-painted; Kilgore, Texas, where the local high school and skate park were defaced; and the Los Angeles area, where swastikas, racial slurs and “Go Back To Africa” were spray-painted on sidewalks, houses and cars. Potok, who is White, said he believes there is “a large subset of White people in this country who feel that they are losing everything they know, that the country their forefathers built has somehow been stolen from them.”
White people have to realize one thing about black people and that is we are not stupid people. They need to stop and think about how we help build this country as well because we were out doing their dirty work for years. Since this election white folks true colors have surfaced. We are ok as long as we sit back and take whatever they dish out to us. The ignorant white people should stop and realize how stupid they look when they start burning crosses and what not because it wasn’t just blacks and other minorities that helped get Obama in. Their people helped get him in office. White people need to read a book or two. They need to see that the first open heart surgery was done by a black man. They need to sit back and chill and let the man do his thing.
Please stop blaming people; God is in control, He has allowed everything in our past to take place for a reason, He has sat back for a very long time (because He’s so patient) and watched humans destroy what He created,and now He’s saying enough is enough. God never intended for racism to exist, and when you think about it… it’s not racism it’s satanism, and now is the time for us to pray for the Power of God to continue to move and flow in this country like never before. Pray for those in authorities that all may be well for everyone that’s under the governmental authorities, so there may be peace in this world. Time is changing and we are moving foward…we can do this “YES WE CAN!”

totally agree with Lyn regarding the “chain reaction” consequence. AND, the Native American was here first. the government and a lot of us keep forgetting that. but Black people have to stop bitchin and complainin and put down the olive branch and perhaps do a mass boycott of businesses in those areas along with a public summit including media to point out those areas. the media keeps it hush hush and THAT has to stop.

The thing is we are all american. we should be proud to be apart of a country where anyone ca be elected to be the leader of the free world. There are so many things that we could be focusing on. things that need improvements. Race shouldn’t be an issue. We are all human beings. All I know is I am proud to be an american and even more to be black. but I am more than a black woma and I will alwaays strive to do so. We need to fucus on more positive things.
