O.J. Wins Minor Court Victory
August 19th, 2009Embattled former football great O.J. Simpson has finally won something in court. But the minor victory won’t due him much good. On Tuesday, a California judge ordered that some of the memorabilia at the core of Simpson’s current nine- to 33-year prison sentence must be returned to him. In a related legal matter, Simpson, whose last courtroom victory came in 1995 when he was acquitted of the bloody murders of his ex-wife and her friend, is currently awaiting a judge’s decision of whether he can be released on bond while he appeals his sentence on the kidnapping and robbery charges that landed him in a Nevada prison. On Sept. 13, 2007, Simpson and several of his friends stormed a Las Vegas hotel room demanding that footballs, jerseys, photos and other items be returned. Simpson contended that the merchandise had been stolen from him earlier. But one of the men produced a tape recording of the event, and Simpson was eventually convicted of a host of felonies. All but one of the partners who joined him in the hotel room siege turned state’s evidence against him and were given only probation for their cooperation. In Tuesday’s decision, Superior Court Judge Gerald Rosenberg awarded gave nine souvenir footballs and a few other items to Fred Goldman, the father of Nicole Brown Simpson’s slain friend, for auction. (Following the murder trial, a civil court ruled that Simpson must pay the Goldman family $33.5 million. The Goldman’s have been trying to collect ever since.) In a seemingly strange ruling, the judge also ordered that the first $6,075 from the auction go to Simpson, even though Goldman could wind up with nothing after the Hall-of-Fame player gets his cut. Alfred Beardsley, an initial prosecution witness against Simpson who later argued that ex-baller had been set up in the arrest, said he was glad O.J. got something. “I’m happy and excited for O.J., that he’ll be getting some of his stuff back,” Beardsley said.

they should give him all of his things back…including his freedom…as for the goldman’s my heart goes out to then …they lost a loved one but oj wasnt responsible for that loss…i know its hard for them to accept that
as for oj keep fighting for you day in coust hope for a victory and after its all over…keep a low profile and choose your friends wisely…
I recommend you a very interesting place __ Rich Flirts.com __It ’s where you have the opportunity dreaming about dating a millionaire and make it true!
you must be crazy sharon! O J DID IT!
sharon!!! what about the mother of is Kids!! Nicole Brown! not
just the Goldmans, I hope you never have to go through a murder
in the family. Then maybe you might know what your talking about!!!
Of course he did it. The man refused a lie detector test and said it was because he had dreamed about killing Nicole. Why not just answer about Ron Goldman, instead? All of his excuses were convenient. Oh, I just cut my hand on a glass that I threw when I heard about the murders. And any man with his considerable wealth is not going to run when he is innocent. Most wealthy people are much too arrogant to willingly leave their lifestyles even when they do commit crimes—-can you imagine how taken aback they are when they didn’t?
Come on now we all know he was set up…. 33 years for trying to get his stuff back..PLEASE!!! THATS A CROCK OF ISH!!!!!!
Clealy this trial was not about Robbery
This trial was about putting him in jail for something he was found innocent 10 years ago…
FREE OJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@cliff and caniadian lory
What about Shaun Bell’ mother, What about James Byrd’s mother, What about all the blacks killed in the oklahoma city bombing’s? What about all the black males that are dead from lynch mob’s? Please go to fox where you fit in!
Cliff and Canadian Lory, I feel for both families. No one should have to go through a murder; but the fact of the matter is, a jury of his peers voted him NOT GUILTY. One of the many problems with this country, we hold on to the past and some of you don’t believe in forgiveness. The Goldman family only won their suit because circumstanial evidence is allowed and that is how they won. But they are not getting paid. I also believe he was set up. There are those of you who just wanted to see him in jail and that’s what happened. You and I both know, if you knew who took your personal and expensive items, you would do everything within your power to get it back. It is clear that he was set up, it was too easy to get his partners to turn on him and just give them probation. O. J. still has his kids and he needs to be there for them. It is sad that they lost their mom in a horrific way, but why let them lose both their parents.
“He that is without sin cast the first stone.” And none of you can say you are without sin or innocent of anything big or small. Get over it, move on, the economy is to bad to waste time on trival matters.
lory canada and cliffy…first of all one case has nothing to do with the other…and yes he should be freed the sentence was way too harsh…and second yes i have endured that type of pain…so shush…talk what you know …and another thing what does the deceased mom of his children have to do with this case lory canada?…nothing so why even bring that up…maybe you missed something but the jury voted … not guilty in the first trial…he was free to walk then and hopefully he will be free to walk again…
IF IT DOESN’T FIT U MUST AQUIT. AQUIT F’N WIT OJ – HE’S DOING ENOUGH DAMAGE TO HIMSELF.
Here we go again…this way of thinking (i call it the “OJ Mentality”) is holding the Black community behind, and it also leads to every other race to not trust/respect Blacks in general. Whenever a Black person get’s in trouble or did OBVIOUS wrong, the average Black individual says “what he did was wrong BUT…”, or “if he were a white man…” or “he was convicted because he’s Black.” Oh, and i forgot about the “only God can judge (so, criminals should be free to do what they want because no person, no judge should prosecute him).” Do you know how idiotic, and biased you seem when you make an asinine statement like “he was free (OJ) to walk then and hopefully, he will be free to walk again.”
Look, OJ was found not guilty by human beings. It doesn’t mean that he didn’t actually do it. If you can say that OJ is innocent because of a jury’s verdict, than STOP COMPLAINING WHEN A BLACK PERSON IS FOUND GUILTY, OR WHEN A WHITE PERSON IS FOUND NOT GUILTY!!
OJ had a fit of rage, or what lawyers call ‘a crime of passion.’ He was a pro athlete…he probably started attacking Ron first, and then Nicole…it doesn’t take two people to do this. One ex pro athlete in a rage CAN and DID do this. There is a motive…there is evidence…and there is a history of domestic abuse. The jury got it wrong, but only biased people would really believe he is innocent (@sharon). As a practicing attorney, i feel sick knowing that scum like him was free for so long. Granted that his recent case should be judged soley on the evidence presented.
Black men commit more VIOLENT crime than men of ANY OTHER RACE!! This is fact, unless, of course, you’re biased and still believe OJ didn’t commit the crimes back in the early 90’s.
umlaw…please give it a rest …the man was set free the first time… the man was acquitted …not guilty …it has nothing to do with race…it has to do with the judicial system…he had a fair trial …he won..the second time around he didnt get a fair trial …so hopefully he will be set free…umlaw are you bias???…seems like it…
umlaw…calm down you seem a tad bit upset…and no name calling…lol..and it dosent sound idiotic for me to say “he should be free to walk”….its my opinion its how i feel…now simmer down…lol
no, umlaw:
its not that blacks are the one’s who commit crimes the most. Its only that blacks are exposed by the media more that whites.
so with that being said, why don’t you shut the hell up. you are a very ignorant person. what you “THINK” you know about us, you don’t know from nothing.
why don’t you take a sociology or an african american history class from 1865 to present at your local community college. maybe than you will learn something about other people, and get off of your hide ass horse.
My Sentiments Exactly,
Thank You James Mack!!!!!!!!!!!
The time that OJ should have kept a low profile is when he got away with the murders. Now he should not get anything and he needs to serve his full sentence, because obviously he was too stupid to realize that if not for Mr. Cochran and his team he’d be serving double-life sentences. Pompous Idiot!!!!
