Bishop Steven Parrott, the former pastor of Lighthouse Temple in Newark, NJ., pleaded guilty to misconduct by a corporate official. Parrot stole around $158,000 from church parishioners and community members.

Under the plea agreement, Parrott must pay restitution and serve at least three years in state prison.

At least one of Parrott’s victims is homeless, according to the Star-Ledger and the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, of which Lighthouse Temple is a member, could also be sued.

Everything that is done in the dark will come to the light in time, and now it time for him to pay for what he has done. I don’t feel bad for him at all. But I do feel bad for the members, and hopefully this does not shake their faith.

This is not news,so-called pastors and church leaders have been doing this for decades.

In too many instances we feed off of our own. Church, school, the prison system, neighborhood politicos. As a people we must keep a close eye on those we put in places of authority, power. School boards are some of the worst. The educational system in our prisons is just horrible, rife with favoritism. Many of the people drawn to these jobs see them as a paycheck only. It’s sad, but with a little work we can root out the bums, and make the systems work the way they were meant to. Blind faith in God does not means blind faith in your pastors. Ask where your money is going. Demand to see proof. Same goes for any institution that is suppose to work for you. Just cause they’re Black don’t mean they got your back.

It’s the church goes fault.I agree with William Carrington,we should have faith in GOD,not the pastors .Church goers should always hold the pastors and deacons accontable for every dime.
