Politics: Obama Distances Himself From Luda; Can Detroit Afford Not To Keep Kilpatrick?
July 31st, 2008Obama distances himself from Luda.

Barack Obama has distanced himself from a new Ludacris track which supports the Presidential hopeful. In the song called Politics (Obama Is Here) the rapper is critical of Sens. Hilary Clinton and John McCain while calling current president George Bush ‘mentally handicapped.’ The chorus of the song goes “The world is ready for change cos Obama is here,” but even that wasn’t enough to win over the Democrat. In a statement released by his team said: “This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend (Jesse) Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear.”
Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick’s troubled son could affect a tight race for her seat. In a city like Detroit, which is facing record unemployment rates, rapid home foreclosures and decreased city services, the last thing Motor City voters should consider is sending a rookie to Washington to watch their backs. But as the race for Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick’s seat heats up, it’s becoming clear that her troubled son, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, has opened the door for the longtime congresswoman’s rivals to overtake her in the race to Capitol Hill.

Luda should know better than that! We want Obama elected and he is not making it any easier when he uses language that is offensive to mainstream. Obama is running for Pres not superintendent for a housing project!
Just stop and think about what you are doing before you do it.
thanks,
Rob
I think Luda call himself doing good and being supported of Obama,
but you can’t bring the rap diss dialog and be vulgar in the lyrics….
I do understand Luda was just trying to do his part in support for Obama
and nothing is ever wrong with that ,” well sort of”……………..
This has more to do with Ludacris than Senator Obama. If Ludacris truly valued their “supposed” friendship then he would’ve contacted the campaign and gave them a preview of how he planned to support. This was all about Ludacris starting a street murmur and “let the chips fly where they may”.
Our people perish for lack of knowledge. Why would anyone want to turn the Whitehouse black? If we wanted it a particular color than there’d be no reason for the Senator to run on his “all inclusive” platform. All Ludacris did was give ammunition to the racist and the Republicans. I guess McCain can spend his dollars elsewhere now with Ludacris doing the cheesy and detrimental work for him.
I need to send his butt out to the backyard for a switch!!!
Luda was showing support for Obama, but he should know better than to degrade Hillary and others at the same time. Why would Obama back that? This doesn’t seem like Luda because he usually has common sense. Now he may put out a diss song against Obama lol
Yeah, this article doesn’t include the actual lyrics that were offensive to the other presidential candidates… But having seen them myself, I commend Obama for stepping back from this song, not endorsing it, and striving to uphold his call for UNITY and CHANGE….not ‘beef’ and ’slander’. I’m proud of him for that.
DON’T BE GANGING UP ON LUDA WHEN THE TWO CLINTONS WERE GANGING UP ON OBAMA NO ONE HAD NOTHING TO SAY UNTIL IT HIT THE NEWS THE BILL AND HIS WIFE WAS BAD MOUTHING OBAMA, AND NOW THAT MCCAIN IS DOING IT WE DON’T SAY ANYTHING AND THAN WHEN LUDA IS DEFINDING OBAMA, AND TELLING THE TWO CLINTONS, AND MCCAIN OFF, OH NOW PEOPLE GOT SOMETHING TO SAY. MAN PLEASE GROW SOME.
Let me start by saying that Luda is a rapper and that’s what rappers do, they make a diss record! Maybe he didn’t use the right words in expressing himself, however it’s called a freedom of speech! I admit that some of the things that he said was a little bit harsh but white men are saying worst things about Obama then you could even imagine so what’s the difference here? The difference is it makes Obama looks extra bad! But regardless of what Luda said, some of us totally agree with him but don’t have the heart or the guts to say it! So talk bad about Luda all you want, he said what he said and I hope he doesn’t take it back, and for Obama, he still has my vote!
People have the right to say what they please but we’re not supposed to threaten, or slander each other but in the wrap business it’s been known to happen. I like Ludacris and I love the Obama Family. I’m sure Obama knows that Luda doesn’t intend to hurt him politically but of course he can’t embrace such a song, the President is supposed to stand for liberty and justice for all. I pray that Luda didn’t expect to get accolades from Barrack himself and just know that it’s OK to do you. God Bless them both in brother love, stay positive and focused on both their games.
This is just stupid and utterly ridiculous that Ludacris would write such lyrics. He was suppose to be the positive rapper, the ex radio dj who made it big, has the ludacris foundation, gets to present big time artists at the grammys and represent a clean upstanding version of a hip hop rapper. But this crap right here is horrible and shameful for him to write such lyrics and at a time when we need for nothing but positive comments and media coverage for Senator Obama. If you ask me, it gives the impression that Ludacris is secretly a BLACK REPUBLICAN.
GIVE ME A BREAK,,,,,(LUDA)???????
HE SUCKS ASS,,,,,,HE JUST WANT’S TO BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT
ONCE AGAIN,,,
Luda is doing the same thing that 2PAC would be doing right now if he were alive. Its time we stand for something or fall for anything. Obama get ready for a ride of you life babe. (IN DA CITY)
Wow …not another speak before you think situation!!!!! I do wish folks will do a little …just a wee bit of thinking …before they speak. I would never hear his lyrics anyway….unless it’s played in a public forum or something and I just happen to be there……. I don’t support this kind of music. Hopefully there are many others that won’t hear it either. Surely he had good intentions……but many good intentions only pave the road to diaster. LETS CLEAN IT UP PEOPLE!!!
BenBen u must not got all of luda records and mixtapes, and tracks where he made guest appeances he a stand up kind of guy but his lyrics never been clean cut he raw and real with his lyrics. u 6 or 7 years too late.
I THINK LUDACRIS IS CRAZY WHAT HE DID WAS NOT NICE, THIS IS A CHANCE FOR A CHANGE AND HE IS TRYING TO MESS IT UP. THAT SONE DESERVE TO BE BANNED AND SHOULD NOT GET ANY AIR PLAY EVER.
