Politics: Obama Distances Himself From Luda; Can Detroit Afford Not To Keep Kilpatrick?
July 31st, 2008Obama distances himself from Luda.

Barack Obama has distanced himself from a new Ludacris track which supports the Presidential hopeful. In the song called Politics (Obama Is Here) the rapper is critical of Sens. Hilary Clinton and John McCain while calling current president George Bush ‘mentally handicapped.’ The chorus of the song goes “The world is ready for change cos Obama is here,” but even that wasn’t enough to win over the Democrat. In a statement released by his team said: “This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend (Jesse) Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear.”
Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick’s troubled son could affect a tight race for her seat. In a city like Detroit, which is facing record unemployment rates, rapid home foreclosures and decreased city services, the last thing Motor City voters should consider is sending a rookie to Washington to watch their backs. But as the race for Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick’s seat heats up, it’s becoming clear that her troubled son, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, has opened the door for the longtime congresswoman’s rivals to overtake her in the race to Capitol Hill.

really now, I find it hard to believe that Luda would make this record and no one knew about it before it reached this point. I find it hard to think that Luda would find the lyrics acceptable… find the lyrics to be so great that Obama and his camp would use it as their victory theme song at thwe convention- is that what Luda thought??? Was he attempting to smoosh Obama to be the White House’s resident DJ or something??? What was Luda thinking. Show your support in a positive way by donating money to the campaign or by spending more time in his own foundations. Leave the politics to the politians and allow Obama to fight the good fight – without speed bumps.
black people are useless i swear- so he made a song- why do you allow media to dictate to you what is news. He raps(freedom of speech) and Obama has nothing to do with it. Maybe im different but people like you clowns on here worried about trivial things like these are who fuel media propaganda- idiots!!
First off most Ni–as in the rap game don’t think about the s–t they say in the first place. If they did then they wouldn’t say half the dumb s–t they say in the first place. Yeah this song is stupid and the GOP and the sly fox media are already on it because why? Luda been in the cross hairs for a minute, still respect to Luda for the attempt, no matter how wack it is cause it is, like Luda. But it won’t matter what Luda or Nas or anyone says if we don’t vote. We see this as something big but big starts at home. Ni–as killing each other over disrespect and they don’t have a clue what respect is. I would love to see Obama win if for anything so my Grandmother can see where this country once was and where its at. With Obama in the white house we have no more empty excuses about not having role models since these fa–et ass rappers are to cool to be what some young kids look up to while they promote that garbage. By the way, when did it become cool to look up to ni–as in jail or put the ghetto up in the sky as a place to get to to get respect and show you made it?
Think before you act…………hmmmmm
Well, what we have in both of these cases~ Obama/Luda and the Kilpatrcicks is a lack of consideration. Ludacris knows that Obama is making history right now, he knows he needs the support of people who love the Clintons as well as Bush supporters and independents who go either way, so why would he jeopordize those possible votes. If Luda had beef with Bil O Reilly off of Fox news the same news organization that attacks Obama, didint he think that they would be listening closely? Obama suppoeted Luda because Luda has given back to the community, etc., so Luda was inconsiderate, a low down dirty bastard or a freaking imbecile/idiot!! You decide!
]The Kilpatrick saga~ well, I am a Detroiter and there are no jobs here. Detroit is isolated and being further isolated because of the nonsense going on. None of the suburbs respect Detroit, most of the local city leaders dont respect Kwame. The city council and the mayor cannot agree on anything. He is now being investigated for shoving a Wayne County sheriff here. I live in Wayne County, Detroit, Michigan so I can honestly say there is no progress going on here. The governor does even know hat to do wiht the situation! So Carolyn, being his mother and a rep for our district should have had a heart to heart with her son a long time ago! In that conversation, she should have explained to him that you only get one family name and with a name should come honor, not reproach! He giving no regard to her, his wife, kids, us , the taxpayers, she should have told him to resign for her and his sake! She is his mother and if he is a sorry -low down person what can you say about mother? The apple doesnt fall far from the tree is a old line that she could have thought about also. The name Kilpatrick use to mean something before Kwame tarnished it.
That was very ignorant for Luda to do …. he jus made us look bad..y cldnt he make a rap that wasnt disrepectful but uplifting for Obama and his supporters. He just gave verification for Mccain’s new dumb ad’s he made about Obama. I am dissapointed. He made Oprah say…”See what I told yall!”. That really was bad timing with those new ad’s that Mccain has out with Obama with Brittney Spears and Paris Hilton.
I wish that at some point our race would understand the consequences to our actions. I sat our actions becauce no matter what one person does or says it is some how linked to everyone. If you wish to HELP someone consult them prior to acting. Even though Obama did not say any of the things on the track. We all know he was surley going to be blamed in some part for it……..
BYRO—-SHUT UP…i heard about the song that Luda did from the White ladies on the View…so these “lil trivial things” do matter!!!
I find it insulting that Obama has to answer to every little thing that comes out of every black persons mouth caught on tape. Ludacris is Ludacris and nobody should have expected anything less from him. I am a huge fan of, and respect both of these intellegent, strong, success men. I only hope that they don’t allow this media hype pit them against each other. Rememeber united we stand, divided we fall.
Luda, Obama I love you both!!!!!
Keep up the good work.
BTW- I bet Obama bump that Luda in his IPOD but of course he can’t admit that to the world.
You know when the true is been told about White America we have to bite our tongue or dance around the facts. America has not change, I love Obama and i think he will our president. I still love Ludacris for been real to the game forever. As African-American lets stop been scare when we speak the true. President Obama will have much more false true to come before and after the election. Vote Obama 2009. And both of these gentleman are my Hero.
lea
cause is people like you, THE VIEW” lol i could care less what they have to say. But sad to say you do.
I THINK LUDA ATTEMPTED TO REACH THE MASSES OF BOTH SIDES. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT FINE LINE THAT DIVIDES THOSE SIDES WAS A LITTLE UNDERMEASURED BY LUDA. OBAMA HAS RAN A FLAWLESS CAMPAIGNE AND IS NOT ABOUT TO SEE IT BLEMISHED BY ANY MEANS. THEY HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TRIP HIM UP FROM A TO Z SINCE THE REALIZATION OF HIM BEING THE NEXT PRESIDENT BEGAN. HE HAS FAR TOO MUCH TO LOSE. WE HAVE FAR TOO MUCH TO LOSE. WE CAN NOT TAKE ANY CHANCES ON ANY FOUL PLAY EVEN IN THE MOST SUTTLE WELL MEANING FORMS. LUDA, ITS A NEW DAY FOR THE AFRICAN AMERICANS. BUT THAT DONT MEAN HIPHOP HAS TO CHANGE ITS BRUTAL TRUTHFUL ASPECT TO IT. LETS GET MORE CLEVER WITH IT. A HIPHOP RECORD REGARDING OBAMA IS NOT ONE OF THE SAME AS THE USUAL 5 MINUTE 1 TAKERS. WE GOT TO GO MATHEMATICLY WIDE ON THIS ONE!!! LACED WITH THOROUGH UNCOMPROMISING INTELLECT AND SPRINKLE IT WITH A DASH OF THAT CLEVERNESS THAT ONE CAN ONLY GET FROM THE HIPHOP PLATFORM. FEEL ME?
GROWN MANS GAME IS THE NEW ALBUM, GET IT UP!!!

thats real talk sir. the realest i read here today. Its a matter of knowing what were up against not attacking something because of the propaganda machines. LEA!!
man luda was speaking his mind about what he thought was right man nun of yall should be hatin on luda for what he said because the things he said were right about them bush is handicapped because he put us through some of this stuff america is going through as one of my favorite songs say hihater
I understand Ludacris is trying to show support for Barack Obama but releasing an offensive track about Obama’s rivals will only hurt his chances of becoming our first black president. Ludacris needs to show support only by going out to vote for Obama. These are fragile times and all of Obama’s supporters have to be very careful.
I LOVE LUDA BUT THERE IS A TIME AND A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING, AND THIS WAS NEITHER. OBAMA PRIDES HIMSELF ON TAKING THE HIGH ROAD AND BEING THE BETTER MAN, HE DOESNT WANT TO SUPPORT A “DISS” RECORD, I KNOW HE DIDNT MEAN ANY HARM AND HE TOLD THE TRUTH, ITS JUST THAT IT DOESNT HELP HIM…………………
aaaahhhh whatever…HIP HOP IS OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH! GET OVER IT! It is sad that Obama has to answer for every little thing. Stop hating America!! Luda is just stating how he feels… he didn’t say he was trying to help Obama’s campaign!! Get over it people! Stop Naggin’!!!
Luda, you have been a young man whom I thought had great potential; that somewhere in life you would do something significiant to change the rap industry. Your are getting older and it is time to wise up. Let your spirit lead you. You have been called for great things, don’t let it pass you by. What belongs to Obama belongs to Obama and what belongs to Ludacris belongs to Ludacris. You “figadillme”.
LOOK. PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANT. BUT YOU CAN BELIEVE THIS AS SURE AS DEATH AND TAXES. SENATOR OBAMA KNOWS WHERE WE COME FROM AS A PEOPLE. HE IS FULLY AWARE OF THE STRUGGLES IN WICH ARE LACED IN THE FABRIC OF OUR LINEAGE OF AFRICAN AMERICANS. DONT THINK FOR A SECOND HE DOSENT. IF YOU BEGIN TO UTTER THE UNWARRANTED THOUGHT OF SUCH, REMEMBER HOW INDEPTH YOUR INTELLECT MUST HAVE TO BE TO SET ASIDE WHAT YOU KNOW THEY HAVE DENIED SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THEIR TREACHEROUS BEHAVIOR, NO MATTER HOW BLATANT THE FACTS ARE PLAIN TO SEE, CONQUER EVERY CAUCASIAN CANDADITE IN THE DARKNESS OF THEIR DESPARATE ATTEMPTS FUELED BY …….”WE CANT HAVE A ?~#?#% IN THE WHITE HOUSE APPROACHES”, ……IN THEIR ARENA ON THIER TOPICS AND IDEAS, WHILE BOBBING AND WEAVING THE DISGUSTING TACTICS OF TRAPPERY AND FOUL PLAY THEY HURL EVERSO-RELENTLESSLY AND STILL KEEP COOL. AND NOT LOSE YOUR STROLL AS A BLACKMAN IN AMERICA. CHECK OBAMA OUT AND YOU WILL SEE HE LITERALLY STILL KEEPS HIS STRIDE THAT RESEMBLES OUR FATHERS,UNCLES AND GRANDFATHERS WHEN THEY USED TO BE IN A GOOD MOOD WHILE WALKING TO THE STORE. THIS MAN IS WHAT WE NEED TO REFERENCE TO WHEN THE FLASH OF GETTING HUNG, BEAT, DRUGG DOWN THE STREET BEHIND VEHICLES AND SPAT ON JUST FOR TRYING TO GAIN 1 TENTH OF THE INTELLECT HE HAS NOT ONLY ACHEIVED BUT DISPLAYED IN SUCH A BEASTFUL BATTLE TO BRING US WHERE WE AS A COUNTRY DESERVE TO BE. REAL TALK THOUGH.
JEZZY NEEDS TO GET HIS MIND RIGHT. SUPPORTING MC CAIN?
COME ON JEEZY!!!!
