Politics: Obama Urges Americans to ‘Come Together’
December 20th, 2008Obama urges Americans to “come together” after anti-gay criticism. After hearing criticism from much of the gay community that helped elect him, Barack Obama is asking citizens to “come together.” The president-elect’s plea follows an outcry over his invitation of author and pastor Rick Warren to perform the invocation prayer at Obama’s January inauguration. Warren, author of the best-selling book The Purpose Driven Life, rallied against gay marriage legislation in California this election year. “We’re not going to agree on every single issue, but what we have to do is be able to create an atmosphere where we can disagree without being disagreeable, and then focus on those things that we hold in common,” Obama says. “There are going to be a wide range of viewpoints that are presented, because that’s what America is about.” Obama’s latest controversy is the second time he drew significant criticism for association with clergy since he started on the road to the White House. His former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was thought to be a threat to Obama’s entire candidacy after comments by Wright that some called anti-American received widespread media attention.

I hate to say this but being married should not be a right unless you are male & female. You can have all the benefits of the marriage. But the title in itself should be issued to male/female relationships, this is what pro-creation is all about. Everyone has a point of view but some things should be left alone, like the real maening of marrige as prescribed by the bible. That the book this country was founded. We are being lead away further and further each day, and this is one reason the world is as screwed up as it is other than GW.
You go Obama ……good choice chosin Warren for this. The gays gonna have to understand that you can’t be lead by their beliefts..if they want to live that gay life then they will have to see God about it …no one has to agree with their every move. Lets live together even though we don’t agree on all things..amen
As for the GAYS…. EAT YOUR BREAD AND DO IT QUEITLY…AND SEEK GODS WAYS.

http://www.newsweek.com/id/172653 –check out this article –very insightful.
Yes the constitution P Shree — was “supposedly” written on biblical principles; however, the framers of the constitution also knew biblically that slavery was wrong and had the opportunity to correct that; however, they did not. Paul prescribed marriage as an option to being promiscuous. If you are a bible reader you will see that marriages where arranged. There were no Rabbis that performed the marriages and the male recv’d many heads of cattle for agreeing to marry some man’s daughter –it was never the other way around. Yes Jesus attended a wedding; however, all we know is that his only action at this wedding was turning water into wine. Sounds like ya’ll need to get you some GLBT friends to really find out what’s going on in our lives.
Regarding the newsweek article posted above:
this is more of the liberal progressive relativistic view of the world… in other words “make it up as you go along”… who needs the bible or who needs God when we can be our own “giver of laws”…
So it is this liberal progressive mantra (not just from gays) that want us all to just let it all hang out… I mean “we know better, times are different now,” etc.
Marriage is between man and women. PERIOD. Civil unions are something else— go for it.
