President Bush Welcomes Obamas to the White House
November 6th, 2008
President Bush welcomes the Obamas to the White House. President Bush on Wednesday hailed the election of Barack Obama as the next U.S. president as “a triumph of the American story” and acknowledged the significance of Obama’s rise to become the nation’s first Black president. He said watching Obama walk through the doors of the White House “will be a stirring sight” but welcomed the first couple to visit prior to Obama’s January inauguration. Obama’s election is “a testament to hard work, optimism and a faith in the enduring promise of our nation,” Bush said in a White House Rose Garden briefing on Wednesday. “No matter how they cast their ballots, all Americans can be proud of the history that was made yesterday.” Bush’s second term in the Oval Office will end when Obama is sworn in on Jan. 20.

Thank the lord!!! I pray that americans all over will learn to love each other regardless of their skin color and just because life is a beautiful thing…
It is about time that a black was elected maybe the world would start to see African Americans in a different light. They will see that we are just as educated as any other race is. The strange thing about it was that it wasn’t the African American community that put Barack in the White House but the Whites; not all white people think the same but there are too many that is covering the globe with negative thinking. They are still in the mind setting as black people are just Niggars! Black People are not immuned from this way of thinking because a lot them is still thinking like the old days. They are not respecting themselves or you. They think that they can not rise above drugs, poverty, crime, sex exploitation and many other negative characteristics that keep us down. Just look at how many black men and also women who are jailed for stupidty. Barack election is not going to change the world but its the beginning of the end of moral break until the people rise above themselves and see that this is bigger than any nation, tribe, or race. We are equally made in God’s sight and until we see that as a people; we will not RISE!!!!!
Ah, does anyone honestly expect GW Bush to say, “Damn Obama and his family”! Besides, GW has made a complete mockery of the presidency. He knows the whole world is pissed off at him. And he has made ALL the money he needs for the next 3 generations for his family. So why NOT welcome someone else in to take over this headache!! It’s not like he’s going to look for a job anyway!!
To see that all races have a change to glory is greater than any SOP. Work will grow and we as a people will grow as well. i see real estate/the Market going back to were it was. Love will be spreaded around the world not just Washington. WE now have to come to the conclusion that we cant blame the man any more.
What does he mean by watching Obama walk through the doors of the White House will be “a stirring sight” I thought this would bring us together but obviously some are more set in their ways than others. It will be a WONDERFUL site . They try to say things of encouragement about Obama yet somehow a slip of the tongue seems to say how they really feel. Obama has worked hard to get to where he is he won this race fair with all odds against him he carried grace, dignity, and respect, with the love of his beautiful family all of the way. I am proud to be a black in america I just want all black men to know you can do ANYTHING you desire with hard work and determination, you too ca be president. GOD HAS BLESSED AMERICA! Thank you lord for OBAMA
I’m so happy for Obama and proud that he is going to be leading our country. This is history in the making. For our children and theres too. May GOD bless him and his family. I feel sorry for the ones who didn’t want him to make it. But I know now that they see why it’s such a honor and wonderful thing. He had us work together and now that we have and something goog came out of it, it can continue to happy for a long time, good things will come.
who will miss Bush??
i know i won’t….
I just want to say that i am very proud that Obama was elected. He earned his place in the White House along with his family. His election is what gives me hope that i will be okay and my family as well. He fought hard to get where he is even though he had everything but the kitchen sink threw at him and he still came out on top. I LOVE YOU OBAMA! Show them what ur made of. Do a good job and be safe. May God Bless You and all the Obama’s on a safe presidency.
It felt very good this morning to be able to wake up and tell my children they can one day be President of the United States. Its just I never wanted to give them unrealistic expectations that would one day lead to a great dissapointment. Being president was never in my vocabulary or my moms. Yes, I have always incouraged my children to be MD’s, Judges, and Lawyers.
I can see change………….
It is a blessing that I lived to see this wonderful man to be the first black president. I will continue to pray for his family and his strenght. May God be with him and protect him from any harm. I love you Obama!!!
I hate “bush” he messed this country up now obama gotta clean up after it thank god bush left because we needed a CHANGE……but I’m glad that OBAMA is president he will be the best!
On November 5, for the first time in my adult life I was actually proud to stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance with emphasis on the words, one nation under God. With the amount of money that he was able to raise (and I know all of it did not come from us) and with the popular vote) gives many of us the incentive to continue to work and hope for change.

Stirring sight means that it stirs up uncontrollable emotions. it is meant to be a good thing. At first when I read it, I thought like you, but I had to remember, its politics, not everything sounds the way it is meant.Bush may be proud, or may hate that a Black man has achieved this momumental goal. But of course, only history will tell us the turth, the question is will we still be here to hear it?
Good riddance to Bush rubbish!!!!! I am counting down the days.
What did Bush mean when he said he sees the Obamas walk through the doors of the White House it will be a “stirring sight”? It’s a proud day and God has made this event happen! May God bless the Obamas from now on and that Obama will lead the people in the right direction just like Moses lead the children of Israel out of bondage by parting the sea and going to the Promised Land.
Im so excited that Obama won presidnet. Not only is he the first african american president but he is the change that we have waited for and needed for a long time. next four years should be good. I beleive that he is a good man.
