Prosecutors Say Atlanta Shooter Should Be Put to Death

Prosecutors say Atlanta shooter should be put to death. Prosecutors in the Brian Nichols case say the courthouse gunman who killed four people during an escape attempt should be put to death. “I want you to honestly consider imposing a sentence of death,” prosecutor Kellie Hill told jurors on Wednesday. Nichols was convicted last week of murder for his 2005 shooting rampage, which left a judge, a sheriff’s deputy and two others dead in the wake of his escape attempt. Prosecutors said even a life sentence would leave the community at risk. Nichols’ attorneys had argued that he was innocent by reason of insanity and that mental illness had led the Atlanta man, who attempted to escape from custody as he awaited a re-trial on rape charges, to go off. But Hill described Nichols as a “conniving, vicious, remorseless and extremely, extremely dangerous person.” His attorneys asked jurors to look into his background to see if he really deserved to be executed. Officials say the sentencing phase could last until Thanksgiving.

i dont think he shud be put to death, i think he shud be in prison for the rest of his life, i dont believe the death penalty should be still here… if they want the person to die, put them in 2 or 3 sentences to life in prison…

Personally I don’t think he should be put to death. I think that it’s more crule to make sure that he spends the rest of his life in prision. Then maybe he’ll end up being passed around the cellblock for a pack of Newports!!

Ok, I just had to comment. I am a full 100% black woman and yes I think he should be executed, as well as I think all the other Spychopaths out there. Not only did he kill a judge, but a sherriff and a reporter. He raped his x girfriend and he held a white woman hostage. While in jail he had a hitlist which included his x girls new man. This man is sick and all the help in the world will not cure him, he is too far gone. Life in prison will still be a death sentence for others, he will have contact with the outside, he will some how try to kill his x and her man. He isn’t done. You have to look at all the facts. Sorry folks he does not need to be here on earth any longer. I am not God and I can’t judge him, even though I am, but he can’t be trusted, stop making this a race thing and accept reality.
