Republicans Make History With Their Nominees

September 4th, 2008

An elderly man and a woman head the GOP ticket

Palin, McCain
Republicans made history Wednesday night when they nominated the oldest first-time nominee in history, 72 year-old Sen. John McCain, and the first woman, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, ever to be the No. 2 on a GOP ticket.  Last night, Palin took the time to beat up on Obama – and to introduce the nation to a new, seemingly formidable candidate for the U.S. presidency. Did you watch the convention? What did you think? Read more about the convention at Pamela On Politics.

She looks classy. She is my favorite. It is said she is single now. Her photos were seen at millionaire&celeb dating site ” http://RichMatchMaking.com ” last week.

I believe that a mother can have a family and a career. However, not at the expense of the child. We are talking about family values (the platform on which Sarah Palin is running). Check the stats on unwed parenthood; it ain’t a black thing any more! AND SHAME ON YOUR FOR TRYING TO USE THAT AS A HAMMER TO SHUT US DOWN! Her son going to Iraq is irrelevant because there are many young blacks in Iraq and subsequently in heaven due to the republicans. Why is it okay for Bristol Palin to have pre-marital sex and be pregnant at the age of 17 BUT when black teenagers were dominating that area it was an outrage and a disgrace to our race? And another thing; a wonderful mother does not return to work 3 days after giving birth to a down syndrome child. If Palin had such strong family values why is her daughter pregnant when Palin herself put such strong emphasis on being an evangelist, PRO-LIFE, NO SEX ED (therefore no birth control) did she forget to share those beliefs with her daughter. And is she’s such a smart woman why is there such a high number of sexually transmitted diseases in Alaska? Heeellloooo they are doing it so teach them to protect themselves. That’s a no brainer…but no Sarah Palin doesn’t approve (she’s forcing her religious beliefs onto Alaskan’s…the US will be next) so let the babies and STD’s run wild. Now she’s forcing the boy, Levi Johnston to marry the girl…PLEASE!! Also, Palin herself gave birth to her first child merely months after getting married. I know a shotgun when I hear it! What example is Sarah Palin setting for the young girls in the US? She’s telling them to abstain from sex (NOT GONNA HAPPEN), she’s telling them that they don’t need any sex education (purely ignorant on her part to think that will promote sex activity) and when they get pregnant further ruin your life by marrying by becoming a teen bride. Sarah Palin’s showing them how to put your family after your career aspirations like she does! Let’s call a spade a spade! If it ain’t right for blacks (unwed motherhood) then it ain’t right for Palin’s daughter either no matter what the republicans say or how much they try to sugar coat it! She put her child on this public stage not us. This Sarah Palin has A LOT of baggage and she is not right for this country! Some of her own native Alaskan’s are scared of her being the VP let alone a heartbeat away from the Presidency and they know her a lot better than we do!
Some of Sarah Palin’s ISSUES:
A private attorney is authorized to spend $95,000 of state money to defend her against accusations of abuse of power.
_Palin sought pork-barrel projects for her city and state, contrary to her reformist image.
_Her husband once belonged to a fringe political group in Alaska, with some members supporting secession from the United States.
_She has acknowledged smoking marijuana in the past.
Vetoed bill denying benefits to gays, as unconstitutional
‘If legislature passed death penalty law, I would sign it” (direct contradiction to her PRO-LIFE stance)
Let parents opt out of schoolbooks they find offensive. (Censorship)
Appointed an Alaska oil and gas commissioner (THE REAL REASON why McCain picked her)
Supported infamous “Bridge to Nowhere”; now criticizes it

.Why is almost everything about race at BET.com? To answer the question someone posted above about young Blacks Americans ( Including myself) being in Iraq. We raised our right hand and volunteered to protect the United States Constitution and obey the orders of the President and Superior Officers. In exchange for alot of benefits and training. The key word VOLUNTEERED.

I think this woman is not realizing that her 17 yr. old daughter is pregnant now why would you be happy about this? The only reason it came out is because somebody else knew she was pregnant, if didnt anybody know she would have made her have abortion, I think.

I think that Sarah Palin is a cold hearted, self centered woman. I noticed the interaction she had with her family. The daughter held the baby more like a mother than she did. Her husband and children had these half afraid looks / smiles on their faces, like ” Oh God, our secrets are going to be revealed”. I expected more proud smiles from the family. Her daughter also looked even more pregnant than a few days ago (maybe her dress was too small). It really struck a nerve to hear all of the negative put downs and to see the people laughing like hyenas. Very vindictive and I personally would not want to be represented by someone as such. We need a wise leader and not a war hero. It’s not about parties, it’s truly about the better man serving our country. Where was the unity ? She talks a good talk but I doubt if she can walk the walk, at least in an honest manner.

Gov. Palin seems to be a decent person and has a family that she loves and supports. I think that’s great. Does that make her ready to be elected to a job that will place her literally one heart beat away from being the most powerful person on the planet is the question that needs to be asked and answered. If that’s so then its hard to believe that republicans are ready to put this woman in the V.P. slot when the majority of them had never heard of her just 48 hours before they nominated her at the convention. What does that say about the judgment of not only John McCain, but the republicans as a whole?

Concerned Said on

I am a registered Democrat. Unlike some democrats I don’t feel obligated to vote democrat at every election. I weigh the candidates stance on the issues and I decide who speaks to my concerns. This election I will be voting for Obama and nothing the republican party has said has changed that yet. Sarah Palin has made me more certain of my choice. McCain’s political views and judgement make me sad for America and where he would lead us.

I watched the speech last night that was given by McCain and I thought it was terrible. All he talked about was himself. His speech was reminicent of some old people that sit close to the steering wheel when they attempt to continue driving even though they’re at a point in age where they should be chauffuered. Palin’s speech was way better and her’s was also horrible. No real issues were discussed, just the same mud slinging that’s been done over the course of 20 months. The GOP doesn’t care about the average American. All they care about is winning the war. It doesn’t matter to them how many die in the process, as long as they get that gold star. Where’s their “pro-life” values that they rave so much about?

It isn’t about race. It’s about right and wrong. Not left and Right wing. Obama/Biden is the right ticket for todays world. 8 IS ENOUGH!
