Rev. Al Is Ready For Court
September 12th, 2008He’s preparing to defend his Sean Bell acquittal protest

The Rev. Al Sharpton will take his public nuisance and disturbing the peace case to court Oct. 6, a Manhattan judge ruled Thursday. Sharpton, who was arrested in early May – along with scores of protestors who froze up major New York City thoroughfares as a statement against the acquittal of three police officers in the shooting death of Sean Bell – had an opportunity recently to admit guilt and avoid a trial and jail time. But the civil rights leader, who heads the Harlem-based National Action Network, wanted a public airing for a case that focuses attention back on what he and others say is the egregiously unfair freeing of the NYPD cops who shot down the 23-year-old Bell outside a Queens nightclub on the eve of his wedding day, Nov. 25, 2006. The officers shot the unarmed groom and his two friends in a haze of 50 bullets. Bell’s friends, Joseph Guzman and Trent Benefield, survived but were seriously wounded. On Wednesday, Sharpton said there is nothing unlawful about a peaceful protest. “Every time they bring me back, it further exposes the disparity of justice in this city,” he said.

They want to stop an effective way of protest marching has worked in every nation and around the world…”KEEP ON MARCHING”.
“What good comes from being in jail? What good comes of marching anymore?” These are questions from a 5 year old child to his mother. Her answers were honest and obvious. “Nothing good comes from being in jail and marching just shows that you care about what is happening.” This leads me to this point. Al Sharpton has been pimping the black struggle for years, and is yet to point the finger at, black people. Bill Cosby does it and ni%$as get upset. The black people who heard Bill said that it was what needed to be said. So I will boldy say that Al, be a real black man and hold black folks accountable. Win your case and start a new effort. As far as Sean Bell and friends, my deepest condolences. The lesson black men, stay away from strip clubs. Book a hotel room and have strippers come and entertain. Or just make the bachlor party clean and have a fun party in a safe and fun environment. Take responsibility for yourself and each other. Oh yeah, Sean Bell is at fault and so is that bad @$$ kid in Jena 6. You folks won’t be so compassionate if this kid hits your daughter or robs you!
I know for sure that he didnt deserve to die that way did it take 50 bullets to get a man down after they were using no telling how many officers in the process to apprehend him , did it take such force to take down 1 man why was he targeted like he was a animal ,I would like to know what their excuse was for unloading their gun on this particular man like they did ,is it true that once they ask you to get down that either you get down or be tazed ,what happen to him for them to unload their guns on him ,was there a contract out for his or something it seems they targeted him for some-one else or something of that sort ,if we are here to be treated like animals then whats the meaning for using tazer guns because maybe he would still be alive today if they didnt use such high forces to take one man down for a ridiculous charge,He seem to be a kind natured person that didnt bother anyone but loss his life in the process of some-one or somebody hating on him for no particular reason . I that he didnt get the chance to live his life like he wanted which was to marry his fiancee like he planned but,no what stop that was a simple mistake in the justice system that they had crooked cops that got away with in the first degree ,because a life is not something that you can buy in the store. Its valuable . My condolocense go out to the family that had to suffer such a tradgic moment in their life.
Wilson how can Sean Bell be at fault or the kid in Jena 6 be at fault. You are a joke. Al Sharpton is doing for African Americans what needs to be done. 3 police officers made 50 shots at someone coming out of a strip club. What is the strip club there for? It is not illegal for grown men to go to a strip club it is however illegal for so-called officers of the law to shoot any unarmed person over 50 times. These types of injustices have plagued the African American community since we built this country for free. America owes us and not only reparations for all the slavery but for all the injustice. Every month someone (black) is getting released from prison because of DNA evidence that proved that they were innocent, what about the cases with no DNA evidence can those innocent people ever be set free? It is sad!!! It is also sad about what happened in Jena, those boys had every right to do those things to that boy who brought that noose and hung it on that tree, he knew what he was doing. And in no way should these kind of charges been brought against those 6 boys for a schoolyard fight. America always has something to say about African Americans and treat us wrong except for when they need someone to play sports against other countries like the Olympics or even in American Sports we dominate then people want to go around and include us in as Americans. But in the justice system we are not like Americans. One day we should just strike from everything and see where that leaves America. I bet people would shut their mouths then. We have contributed more to this country than all races, we have fought in all the wars even at times when we could not even vote or eat in the same restaurants as other people, we built this country without even a thanks from ungrateful people like yourself, Wilson. Our day is coming and when it does everything will be reversed we will be in charge of making rules etc. make sure that you are walking the right side and not the wrong one right now you are on the wromg side..
BET where is my comment. my comment was thoughful and took time out of my day to address this issue and my comment does not get printed but you print everything that Wilson said or UMLaw says, my opinion counts too sometimes more than some of these wacko’s opinions that you print. stop censoring me my 1st Amendment right is just as good as everyone else’s and when it comes to being black my opinion count s more than the nonblacks who you tend to print everything they say…. Get it together BET!!!
An illegal demonstration is illegal. Point blank. We always ask for things to be set aside for us simply because we are Black and then demand everyone respect us as equal. They froze up major thoroughways which affected public transport and business impacting many lives. They did it without warrant. They broke the law, and now some of you think it is ok. So if a person of another race insults you and you demand respect, what premises do you stand on when you call for preferencial treatment in situations like this? Don’t bother responding. You still don’t get it. You cannot demand equal rights while claiming to need alternate treatment.
