Robbers Snuff Out a Mother of Eight
October 1st, 2008Robbers snuff out a mother of eight. The thugs who shot to death a 36-year-old woman last week outside an Atlanta check-cashing store last week couldn’t have know they were snuffing out the life of a mother of eight children and a grandmother who had gone back to school to earn a degree. Nicknamed “Step,” Stephanie Seabrum was shot to death early Saturday after two robbers shot her in the chest while her fiancé waited for her in a nearby car, police said. “They took a beautiful person and messed up a lot of people’s hearts,” said the slain woman’s mother, Sharon Seabrum, 52. “I’m praying for somebody to be caught. This was senseless.” Sharon Seabrum described her daughter as a happy woman with a big smile and a bubbly personality. She “always greeted you with a hug and a kiss,” Sharon Seabrum said. Step had told her mother that she wanted 10 kids, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. “I told her to go ahead: You only got two more to go,” said Sharon Seabrum, who will take custody of four of the children and the grandchild. The other four children will be cared for by others, the newspaper reports.

I wish I did not have to comment on this report
what is wrong with society today? whatever happened to going to work for respect and pride in yourself instead of killing and stealing as a way to make a living…i am a christian and deeply spiritual and i would not want to be in the shoes of the killers because if there is nothing else i am sure of they will get what they deserve either here on earth or when they have to stand before god on judgement day regarding what they did in their life…i truly would not want to face him and try to explain why i did this senseless act of violence that left a beautiful person dead and her children to grow up without the love of their mother. may god have mercy on her soul and the souls of her family.
Hell is calling those thugs and if they don’t confess, there lives will be haunted, souls will burn in Hell. Now eight children are broken hearted for life from this tragedy. I couldn’t imagine something like this happening to anyone and it happened….The world is coming to an end sooner than people think……..Got Jesus?
WHO WROTE THE ARTICAL? SNUFF, THAT SOUNDS LIKE YOURE KILLING A BUG. I HOPE SHE RESTS IN PEACE AND THEY FIND AND PUNISH THE ANIMALS WHO DID THAT TO HER.
whats the matter? you cant even speak your mind? why write down comments if you cant say anything freely? I dont write with any profanity so where are my comments?
This story saddens and breaks my heart into many pieces. Some things are ‘unrecoverable’ in THIS life! We can NEVER recover a love one who has been a loving treasure in our lives – who has now passed on, or been murdered at the hands of another. In our culture (as Blacks), we have truly lost our way. Our morals have been swept up into a trend of having the most, the best, the latest – oftentimes with that mindset resulting in those who just so happen could give a ‘poot’ in taking from those having only just a wee bit more than THEY – who perpetrate these acts of violence. These kinds of unforgivable and senseless acts will only increase in huge volumes – due to the economy dictating to that percentage of people who’d rather do harm or injustice to others, as oppose to being guided by that very SIMPLISTIC rule of thinking: “would we want these things done to us, or someone we love” ? If the answer is no, THEN and only THEN – perhaps progress and change in the minds and hearts of those whose preferences are predicated on stealing, killing, battering, injuring, lying, cheating, etc., – might have a semblance of resolve. We owe so much to those who have paved our way – leaving us (behind) to correct those ills which befall us daily. It’s imperative that we do something, and refrain from standing on the sidelines – waiting for others to make the change for us. These poor children – like many others who WILL be spun in that same revolving web of violence can have a chance at not being part of that ‘percentage cycle’. There’s a verse in Scripture which says, ‘What a man thinketh, such is he”. We are the sum-total of our thoughts and attitudes. We can do better than this good people – in raising our children to honor parents, do good by and the respecting of others and ourselves, not coveting or envying the possessions or skills of others. My dear, sweet and loving Mother passed away in Jan of this year, from bladder cancer. My family and I visit her grave site regularly. I have yet to see, or know of anyone who has taken alongside them, ANY of their lifelong acquisitions of wealth and materials garnered and gained…while living in this life! The casket is only big enough for the body, and the grave is only dug deep enough for the casket to fit into. Folks – too much heavy artillery WILL be coming our way!! We are going to need to arm ourselves with much more capabilities and what we have shown and put out. We all need to start with ourselves, and in our own individual homes. Our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives, as well as our own lives – rest on the choices we make in THIS life!!! There will NOT be a chance to return to make a correction! God’s grace to all, and certainly to those children, as well as, to the masses of children like them – whose parents were taken in the most vile and satanic way! Life is precious. Make the best of each moment – for the next one is not a given!
Hello all,
My name is Michael Seabrum (Stephanie’s cousin). I would like to thank you all for your kind comments. Hopefully the thugs that are responsible for this senseless killing will be caught. Although Stephanie is technically my cousin, we were closer than that. I miss her so much words can’t describe it. We grew up together as little kids and I have very fund memories of her. I cry/pray for her mother and kids and for whatever reason I can’t stop thinking about her. I will continue to pray for her kids/mom and I ask you do so as well.
Michael Seabrum
My heart goes out to the children of this young mother, whose life was taken away from them. The killers WILL be found and prosecuted.
Don’t worry ’cause when the killers end up in prison the inmates will get revenge; when those inmates get through with them, they (the killers) will wish THEY were dead!!!!!
that’s messed up
Now that’s what I call a COWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!! If he wanted to snuff someone out, it shoulda been himself.
I FEEL SO SAD. I GO TO THE SAME CHECK CASHING PLACE EVERY SATURDAY ALSO. MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL WHO LOVED HER AND ESPECIALLY HER CHILDREN RANGING IN AGES 2-19. TO HER SON IN HIS 1ST YEAR OF COLLEGE, PLEASE DONT STOP. I KNOW IT’S EASY TO GIVE UP BUT HARD TO KEEP GOING. KEEP GOD 1ST AND BE AND EXAMPLE TO YOUR YOUNGER SIBLINGS. SHE IS AN ANGEL NOW WATCHIN OVER YOU ALL, GOD BLESS. THE WRATH OF GOD ON THE MEN WHO DID THIS!
This is one of the reasons why i always have to look behind my back all the time and it saddens me that somebody would do this to her. To the family of the victim i hope that this person or persons will get caught and be put in jail because they know deep in their cold hearts that this was someone who was someone’s sister, cousin, mother, daughter, etc. I know the feeling of losing a loved one to senseless violence (3 cousins) and i’m still sadden by it even though it happened years ago. I’ll pray not only for you guys but for ALL my people around this earth!
These cowards should go to jail and get gang raped, then street justice within prison should take care of them, they can not suffer enough!!!
my prayers goes out to the slain womans family, may God keep you safe, and remember there are better days to come. As for the reporter that wrote the article , you really need to take an English class you do not use the work snuff , it’s a lot more appropriate adjectives to use.
This is one of those cases where I’d like to see the robbers caught, convicted, sentenced to death, and have the execution on local TV as a warning to all who may be considering doing it themselves. I don’t care if they were broke and starving. It would be better to starve than to take someone’s life. Yes, I’m angry at people who do things like this!
Oh my goodness…I think this is a terrible…well my prayers and sympathies go out to the family and these so called thugs will get whats coming to them!
My sincere condolences to the family of Stephanie. May God bless and look over them. The cowards who committed this senseless crime should get the death penalty, nothing less.
The newspaper stated the boyfriend lost the suspect after he disappeared around the back of the building. Did the police ask the apartment complex with the gate right behind there if the gate was opened about the same time or if they even looked or asked the residents (a police officer is always visiting on duty in one of their cars over there anyway) if they heard the shots or saw anyone in the area looking suspicious because it is turning into a horrible area! I am the same age as Stephanie and hope he reaps what he has sowed. Their low down sorry donkeys can get off their lazy behinds and work to get what she had instead of taking hers. I hate to say this (no I don’t) I hope they lose someone close to them and it kills them inside and out.
That was pretty senseless. “Vengance is mine” thus said the Lord so they will have their day. She was just taken too early.
And for J, you have to be a stupid muthaf***a to not know that means. I’m just saying.
