Hmmmm, I guess there weren’t any Black actors or actresses worthy of an award this year? I’m sure I’ve seen some awesome performances over the last year. And they wonder why we have our own awards shows, just like in school, we always had to have our own prom or dance or whatever because they fail to acknowledge our contributions or our participation. It’s amazing how we can always include everybody in our everything, but we’re always left out of theirs.

Reign very well said, they do always leave us out of everything, but blacks ALWAYS include other races in everythign we do. They let us know their awards show can go on without us,among other things. But it shows we cant do anything without involving someone else. Whats wrong with something being 100% black, “they” do it all the time. Why are black actors so into the oscar hype, that just gives them more fuel for their fire. ~%#$# the oscars, we dont need a fake statue to know were truly golden.

I’m sure it is because many of these “stars” have been deceiving their fans & worshipping Egyptian gods. Take a look at http://www.exministries.com get all informational cds for your knowledge they will save your life. I have taken ALL radios and televisions out of my home & car.
Satan has such a very devious plan for ALL that worship other gods for those that do as such obviously have not read the Holy Bible but Satan knows the Holy Bible through & through. So sad he has his followers dumber than doornails. Sad but true.

I hope that no one is surprised that an African American didn’t win, another “shut out”. I did not bother to watch it, I enjoyed watching the BET HONORS. We will have to always take care of outselves.

this black out was definitely done deliberately, white folks are so intimidated by blacks because of our talent and our beauty; They want to look like us, secretely watch us on tv, have guarded friendships with us, but they do not want to give us our props. so sad.

I didn’t watch the awards show because it was a “black out”! Couldn’t America tell? Or did anyone even care. Not one minority organization complain, I guess they are afraid to do do. Al and Jesse need some minority person to step up and take the reigns. It was a terrible showing of no Blacks. I was terribly offended at the entire process and the Black Out. America is still so racist. When, oh when will America become truly a society of equality?

What’s the big deal of receiving an Oscar. We have great award shows, i.e. The Image Awards, Essence Awards, BET Awards, etc. They are dynamic, inspirational shows and there is always someone praising God. Why the Oscars?? Let’s appreciate what we celebrate instead of wishing some White Folks would give us their okay with a gold statute. To hell with it. I find the Oscars rather boring anyway!!!

lol, my brothas and sistas. though the oscars should be based on talent alone…i’m sure what these movies/cast bring in(loot/dollar$) the box office is also a factor. if we want our people to get their just do, then we have to support them as such. this means “actually” going to the movies/plays instead of getting them on”boot-leg” before they’re even at the box-office! if we do our part and our “talented” folks doesn’t get recognized…then we’ve got the right to criticize.

Stefnee Said on

Oh come on now!!! Are you all surprised! I never bother to even watch the oscars anyway. I wasnt going to help the ratings go up knowing that a brotha or sista wasnt gonna win anything anyway. We gotta start taking care of our own just like they do. And the sooner the black celebs figure this out the better off they will be.

Nina Said on

Ted thanks for that…even though it’s wrong,we do need to do our part. It’s just like voting. If we go “actually” see the movies, then we get the right to complain. But just like voting if we dont get up and vote, how can we complain about who didnt get elected! Good productive way to look at it. Now if we all go see the movies, then we can give em’ hell!!

This woman has been an actress for many, many years and they couldn’t even give her an award, thats sad.It must be a white thing this year not a right thing.

Gerri Said on

I agree with Ted, I was offered a copy of American Gangster and Why Did I Get Married before they hit theaters. I perfer to watch in theaters and buy CDs in orginal package.

I didn’ watch it, and I am not surprised by the outcome.

The academy awards are not given out according to how much each movie has made. Previous winners vote on movies they feel should be nominated and who the winner should be. There haven’t been many black winners, so go figue.
