Scientists urge caution over claims of an HIV cure. Specialists are cautiously mulling over reports that a bone marrow transplant – with specially selected donor stem cells – appears to have cured a 42-year-old American man of HIV. Some 20 months after the transplant, there is no sign of HIV in his system, according to Gero Hütter, M.D., and colleagues at the Charité-Medical University here. Read the rest here. Of course they’re urging caution. The HIV / AIDS medications alone are very profitable for the drug and research industries. A total cure would mean a significant decrease in profits for these companies.
I think that being that Hiv Aids is a epidemic that they should be pushing foward with trying to figure out a cure for all people becasue it is ridiculous that we live in the richest country and cannot find cures for things like cancer hiv and aids but another thing that we must do is protect ourselves to ensure that we put a cap on the epidemic no matter what ……holla
Like cancer the HIV/AIDS epidemic is a big money maker for certain people and the gravy train would stop if a cure was revealed. No more millions of dollars for “RESEARCH”…imagine that…
