I can understand why the customer would have had a problem with the receipt. I also know that if we continue to fall into the trap of being called racial slurs, we will be just as low as the person making the slurs. Our economy is in a turmoil right now, and if people have time to do unecessary things, then you can see they are not trying to better themselves. I think it is very uncessary to print out racial slurs. The cashier at the store has some issues that he/she needs to deal with, and belive me it had nothing to do with the customer returning the shoes. If the employee is still employed at the store, I don’t think African Americans should continue to shop at that store.

The only thing that probably happened to the employee was that they were told to never do that again, and then removed from processing returns. They probably moved the employee to floor sales and hope that the customer won’t recognize them next time. Sad that stuff like that still goes on.

I live in alabama and shop at Journey’s al the time but after reading this story I Know that people are going to say things and do stupid stuff but certain things need to be bought to the light I would be on the news and bring down the sales at the store they would be pissed at me the they would looses the(n) sales for awhile and let it affect the pockets of those higher up you don’t have to act stupid to make others pay for there behavior we have only seen the first of how others will act and behave it will get worse befor it gets better but the difference is this is not back in the day and certain stuff won’t be tolerated by us (n) african americans so I mean it sucks that he had to go thru that but just keep it moving the day will come.

Second: this incident happened in October, 2008 and was resolved. My concern is why is BET.COM late in revealing news, or do they just like to get people riled up? I am a Black American woman, and I just want to say if you can not report it in a timely manner maybe you should rethink posting it.
