Shooting Leaves at Least 12 Dead; Up to 40 Taken Hostage in New York
April 3rd, 2009At least one person opened fire in a Binghamton, New York, building Friday morning, killing at least 12 or 13 people, according to Gov. David Patterson, and holding up to 40 more hostage. One gunman was also killed, according to law enforcement. “This is a horrible situation. There’s no available data on what’s going on there other than the fact that lives have been lost,” said Gov. Peterson, reports CNN. More than 12 were wounded in the gun fire, according to preliminary reports. The shooting took place at the American Civic Association, a place that assists immigrants, while people were taking a citizenship test, a source told the Associated Press. SWAT team sharpshooters are positioned outside of the building and the FBI plans to send in hostage negotiators. A nearby high school has been put on lockdown. Story developing.

I actually live in Binghamton where this happened and im sure i speak for everyone here when i say this was totally unexpected for the most part its a quiet town and no major crimes committed such as this one as for the racist remarks on here you should keep your thoughts to yourself and not state false statistics unless you have proof that they commit 90% of crimes keep your mouth shut and finally my thoughts go out to the families of the victims
Lee: First of all, i did not write the first comment on here with my name on it. As all the regular bloggers on here know, there are some that like to take the cowardice stance and use other people’s name and write stuff…just so he/she can get a nasty remark from the other bloggers against the false name. He/she is spineless, and doesn’t have the mental capacity to argue with his/her brain.
In regards to your inquiry, that is because of simple math. Are you good at math? Well, there is this thing called proportion. There are an exponentially greater amount of Whites than Blacks (or any other race) in America. So, there naturally will be more Whites in jail (barely more than Blacks…this in and of itself is ridiculous), on welfare, etc, etc. BUT if you compare all the races in the US proportionally, or in a per capita sense, the crime rate, and lack of education within the Black community is astonishing. That’s just fact. Do your research and get back to me.
If your not black and don’t interact with African Americans on a positive everyday basis then you don’t know a thing about us..Whites have ruined this country and still whine about how there different from everyone else..I’m from Texas and from what I see out here in this world..It is much better to be black these days in America..There’s not many African Amercians wanting to be white but It’s plenty of people trying to be black…African Amercians are on the rise that’s why we have the most HATERS IN THE WHOLE USA !!! The shooter had lived in california for 7 years b4 movin to ny…it was said on latimes.com he quit his job but was a very hard workin man and just didnt show up to work one day…he asked all his w-2 slips be mailed to him wen he goes to NY…i wonder y he wanted too create that kinda problem in ny an not cali where this is nothin new…he was a asian and stupid asses made fun of his accent…im from new jersey and we have alot of asians here…we dont make fun of there accent as it was stated in a news channel

This is the very first time I’ve ever been on this blog. I am a African American woman and I am very proud of my race. I know racism does still exist but, to think how ignorant people are. It’s time for all Americans to recognize that we as a people are steadily progessing despite the statics of crime and poverty. The white man still wants to keep us down and what a shame. Just remember we will rise again. Obama all the way!!!!!
