Six Die in Philly House Fire

December 27th, 2008

 Philly House Fire

Authorities are investigating a Philadelphia fire that killed six people and burned down a three story home Friday night. All six people, including a 1-year-old, are described as Liberian in nationality. Eleven people lived in the house, but three were rescued and two reportedly managed to escape. Two survivors were being treated at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital after the tragedy. The dead were all found huddled together against the southwest Philly home’s only exit door. No evidence of smoke detectors was found in the house. Five other people who lived in an adjoining house were unhurt but lost their homes. No names of the victims had been publicly released early this morning.

David who ever you are you have no right to speak on things you don’t know it shows ignorance. My heart truly goes out to the family I know how hard it is to be an imigrant in the us .My father had to earn his citizenship .Because of this he knows more about US history than most americans and the smartest man I have ever met.So all of us americans should look at immigrants who try to earn citizenship with pride because they took time energy sweat blood and tears just to be able to enjoy our country the very country that we as young americans abuse criticize and neglect on a daily basis. Not to mention the racism that we as americans not only caucasions but americans as a whole show them.God bless the family who went through this terrible tragedy.

Well i live in Philly and actually there were 7 dead including 3 children under the age of 10! On the news they said that there were about 10 people in the basement watching a movie, and while this was going on someone was trying to light the gas pilot, and it blew up! The section of the basement were the pilot was, was right under the stairs, so they caught on fire trapping everyone inside, scared to try and run through the flames, but there were 3 adults who did excape by running up the stairs and through the flames….. as for the children, another adult put them in a shower that was in the basement and turned the water on….they say everyone died of smoke inhaling! Its a shame… my heart goes out to the family truly!

My Heart felt prayers go out to the 6 victims, including the 1 year old baby, who all tragically died in that fire, & I hope & pray that GOD ALMIGHTY has or will resurrect them all in the Kingdom of Heaven, where they will experience eternal joy, happiness, goodness, truth, honor, respect, & love. GOD BLESS all of you & your family, friends, & loved ones.

Omg!this is really horrible.my parents hail from liberia but I was born the us.this is really a sad and tragic news.there is the time for everything.and for everything there’s a time.and I think there’s a reason for this.things happen for a reason and think this incident occur inorder to teach people about the importance of fire detectors.they died for everyone one of us,immigrants or blacks whatever we call our selves.may their soul find peace.may their families also find comfort in the lord if they believe.liberians have suffered to much.I mourned with you all.
