It is a shame when people see educated African Americans as being uppity. Since when is it a crime to speak proper English? It sounds to me that she needs a serious reality check because there are plenty of educated black people that have pride and are not afraid to show it. Its a shame that we are still dealing with the topic of race in the year of 2008. What is wrong with us? Are we just stupid. We can’t call Davis or Westmoreland uneducated, backwoods rednecks. These are well educated congressmen. So, I guess we can conclude that even education does not automatically insulate people from ignorance. That’s a scary thought. We always assume that if people know more they’ll view life and others differently. Well, there goes that theory! What it proves is that racism and hatred are matters of the heart, not the head. Our minds only meditate on what’s really in our hearts. There’s only one thing I know of that deals effectively with the heart of man..The Love of God found in Christ Jesus. The heart of man is desperate and deceitful and without remedy. Jesus is the only answer. You can change your mind, but Christ is the only one who can change your heart.

No more trying to post comments on BET for me. It gets old. It rarely gets posted, even if your comments are completely appropriate. I post all over the web and BET is the only website I experience this trouble with. What does that say about BET? That its a second rate run operation? WOW! This is what is wrong with our people. Just because a brotha and/or a sistah are educated and not ghetto-cated, they have to be uppity? God’s Word says: “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgement you judge, yo will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” Matthew 7:1,2

Uppity, historically has meant that you were a black or N-word that doesn’t know his place. Any “uppity N-word” thought that he was as good as a white person, or on equal par with everyone else and at the time this was believed to be untrue. Now, in 2008 we still find some (not all) who still embrace this kind of backwards thinking, but its far more dangerous now. The reason is that usually someone who speaks this way 300 lbs, uneducated truck-driving-confederate flag-waving-redneck, living in a trailer park, somewhere in backwoods Mississippi. That’s not the case here. Westmoreland is an well educated U.S. congressman. That makes him far more dangerous, because people will assume that if smart guys come to the same conclusion as dumb rednecks, then it must be true. BUT, what they don’t realize is that racism is not a matter of the head; its a matter of the heart. Hatred is a heart issue, not a mind matter. Change the heart and you change the mind. Unfortunately, there’s only one thing that can change our heart..Jesus Christ, the Son of God! Anyone can change their mind but only Christ can change a heart.
