Jerry Stackhouse ponders leaving Mavs. Presidential politics aren’t the only realm of society where change is being discussed. NBA veteran Jerry Stackhouse is among a number of 2008’s pro athletes considering a change of team jerseys. Stackhouse, 34, has grown restless on the Dallas Mavericks inactive list and is prepared to play elsewhere. “Teams get to the point where they’re starting to focus more on bringing along their young guys,” he tells ESPN. “I’m an older guy, but I still feel like I’m not necessarily ready to sit on the bench. I think there is an opportunity out there.” But coach Rick Carlisle says there are no immediate plans to move Stackhouse. The official reason for his inactive listing is a sore heel; however, Stackhouse says the injury isn’t a burden.

Documentary explores life of J.C. Chavez. Ex-heavyweight champ Mike Tyson and fight promoter Don King are among subjects interviewed for a documentary about a Mexican boxing legend. Jorge Chavez was a champion for 11 years and will be the focus of the film “Open Range .” “The film was a chance for me to talk about Mexico when I was a teenager,” says Diego Luna, who interviewed King and Tyson about the fighter. “I remember living in a country that was always in a crisis ever since I was 10. So, for me, it was interesting to tell the story of the only Mexican who didn’t know what losing was when the country was falling apart.”
