NFL player treated for injury, but woman dies
A deadly nightclub altercation that left New Orleans Saints player Charles Grant wounded from a stabbing is being investigated. Grant was treated and released from a hospital after he was stabbed in the neck at a Southwest Georgia nightclub this past weekend. A pregnant woman was shot, apparently in connection with the violence. Korynda Reed, 23, of Blakely was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center, where she died. “We’re aware of the situation and are gathering information,” Saints spokesman Greg Bensel says. “Until we complete the process, we will have no further comment.”
Tiger Woods wins Dubai Desert Classic
Tiger Woods has won his last four tournaments after placing first in the Dubai Desert Classic Sunday. Woods followed his Buick Invitational win with the title from the competition in the Middle Eastern city where he played his second tournament of 2008. Woods triumphed over Ernie Els, after taking command of the competition. “I’m just happy to get a win out of this,” Woods says. Jordan wants injunction against alleged stalker NBA great Michael Jordan has filed an injunction against the woman who once claimed that he fathered her son. The former Chicago Bulls star says Lisa Miceli, of Pennsylvania, has bombarded him with hundreds of threatening calls and e-mails, ever since MJ’s two DNA tests showed in 2005 that he was not the father of Miceli’s child. Jordan wants a court injunction against Miceli, whose recent communications allegedly have been “violent and threatening.” A lawyer for Miceli has given no comment on the case, but the woman’s Web site is revealing. A sample, with capitalization included: “It is Lisa Miceli…. and MICHAEL JEFFREY JORDAN KNOWS EXACTLY WHO LISA MICELI IS AND RECOGNIZES MY VOICE AT ONCE.” Yeah, that’s kinda scary.
