“Nigerian Nightmare” not nice at news conference.

Heavyweight boxing champ Samuel Peter isn’t in the best mood as he counts the days to his fight in Germany against Vitali Klitschko. As Peter and Klitschko, both considered champs by the World Boxing Association, held the same belt at a news conference, Peter snatched it away. The fighter then stormed off stage Monday, reportedly irritated that the majority of the conference was conducted in German. The face-off while holding the belt was a standard media photo opportunity, but Peter was said to have been simmering since he could only answer a few questions that had been translated for him. Klitschko speaks fluent German and gave several responses to the media about the Saturday bout. “What happens here is a show,” Klitschko said. “The real fight is in the ring.”More slow motion could govern hardwood. NBA teams will vote this week on whether to expand the use of instant replay beginning this season. Subject to the vote are decisions about whether referees will be empowered to review shots at any point in the game to decide if 2-point or 3-point shots were scored. Also to be determined: whether officials can use replay if the game clock malfunctions during a play at the end of a quarter or in overtime to see when time expired. Last season, replay was only used in reviewing shots made and fouls called with no time on the clock at the end of each quarter, for flagrant foul calls and conflicts between players. The season begins Oct. 28.
