Sports: N.Y. Knicks Suffer One of Their Worst Team Losses; Steelers Begin Stadium Turf War

November 30th, 2007

Boston demolishes New York 104-59
The New York Knicks continue making news for all the wrong reasons. First there was the multi-million-dollar lawsuit by an ex-employee who said coach Isiah Thomas sexually harassed and verbally abused her. Then it was the off-court tension and rumored threats of blackmail against Thomas by guard Stephon Marbury, said to be upset about possibly losing playing time. Now it’s a 104-59 loss to the Boston Celtics. New York suffered the loss Thursday in one of its worst defeats ever. “I’m angry,” says Marbury. “I’m always angry when I lose, but that was just flat-out embarrassing. To lose that bad was just ridiculous.” The victory for Boston was its biggest since a 153-107 win against the Baltimore Bullets in 1970.

Steelers begin stadium turf war
The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t want to give in to suggestions that their stadium needs artificial turf. After Monday’s game saw the field drenched in more than an inch of rain, players fear that the soggy mush shown on live TV will bring pressure from the NFL to put down turf on the team’s home-grown green. “I think everybody wants to keep the grass,” Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward says. A league official is in Pittsburgh to monitor the field conditions before Sunday’s game against Cincinnati.

I think that the city of New York should really PRAY for their team. The have a lot to cope. A good sound prayer could change things. Let go of the past and look towards the future. The coach should repent and the players should release him and keep everything strictly business for know on.
