Sprinters face-off for highly anticipated rematch
Asafa Powell has beaten world-record-holding sprinter Usain Bolt by one-hundredth of a second at the DN Galan meet in Stockholm, Sweden. Powell raced to the finish line in 9.88 seconds against his fellow Jamaican. Powell had previously lost to Bolt at the Olympic Trials last month. Bolt then went on to break Powell’s world record of 9.74 seconds by running a 9.72-second race in New York on May 31.

Tony Dungy predicts timely Manning recovery

Tony Dungy
NFL coach Tony Dungy’s confident that his quarterback will be ready to start for the Indianapolis Colts in their season-opener, despite a knee injury. It’s even possible that Peyton Manning could compete during the pre-season, adds Tony Dungy. Manning recently underwent surgery that was projected to have him sidelined for six weeks. “I have talked to Peyton, and we’re just following the doctor’s instructions right now,” Dungy says. “I’m hoping for four weeks, but if he’s truly out six weeks, I think it will be hard to keep him out. However it goes, he’ll be ready when he comes back.”
