Remy Ma Shooting Victim Re-files Civil Lawsuit

The woman whose shooting sent a Grammy-nominated rapper to prison has re-filed a civil lawsuit. Makeda Barnes-Joseph, a former friend to Remy Ma, withdrew her $10 million claim during Remy’s criminal trial. But following the rapper’s conviction, Barnes-Joseph has renewed her claim for damages. Not only is Remy named liable, but the restaurant she and Barnes-Joseph left before the shooting is included for allegedly serving the rapper excessive alcohol. Remy was convicted of having shot Barnes-Joseph in the abdomen after the women allegedly argued over money.
