Former Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry, who is now jobless and facing a possible prison term on drug charges, must continue to pay $3,000 a month to one of his nine children, whom he fathered with nine different women. On Thursday, a DeKalb County judge rejected Henry’s request to halt support payments for his 5-year-old son. Attorney Randall M. Kessler had argued during the daylong hearing that Henry can no longer afford to pay the $3,000 because he’s no longer in the league and could be heading to prison. But Robert Wellon, arguing on behalf of Jameshia Beacham, the mother of Henry’s son, told Superior Court Judge Clarence Seeliger that the 30-year-old former super star had spent millions on jewelry, cars, a new home, and other luxuries. There were also many other items that Henry refused to identify, saying they had to do with his impending drug trial. Last fall, Henry was arrested in Colorado on felony cocaine possession charges. He is scheduled to be arraigned in April, his attorneys said. He is currently under house arrest in Colorado, having paid a $400,000 bond. When asked by Wellon why he had made several cash withdrawals of up to $70,000 after getting cut by the Broncos, Henry offered only, “All those big withdrawals have to do with my [criminal] case.” He went on to acknowledge the mistakes he has made. “Now that I look back on my life, not all of my decisions were good, and now I’m paying for it,” Henry said. “I just want to make good. … I want to take care of my children. I want to get my life back together.”

A 22-year-old New Orleans man is accused of killing his toddler son because he was ordered to pay child support, The Associated Press reports. Danny Platt, who initially told police that men with guns had snatched his 2 ½ -year-old son, not only confessed but told investigators where to find the child’s body, according to Police Superintendent Warren Riley. “He had said he would kill either his wife or his child before he paid child support,” which he recently had been ordered to do, Riley said. Even though Platt had visiting rights, Riley said, he never visited little Ja’ Shawn Powell until Friday, the day he picked up the boy. Police said that they did not know the amount of the child support and that the official cause of death would be revealed after the autopsy was complete. “The mother is in a safe place,” Riley said. On Saturday, police put out a bulletin seeking three men with dreadlocks and AK-47 rifles, whom Platt said poured out of an SUV around midnight Friday and spirited his son away. “His story never really added up,” Riley said. “He was a suspect from the very beginning. …”How does an individual — because he’s ordered to pay child support to take care of a kid … believe that this is so much pressure that he would face — he would do this hideous act to his own child, or to any child, and think that is a remedy to paying child support? I mean there are some sick individuals in this society, and this gentleman is clearly one.”

Auto industry crisis costs Tiger Woods’ cash. General Motors Corp. will end its nine-year endorsement relationship with golfer Tiger Woods in an effort to further reduce expenses as the company fights to survive financial devastation. GM announced Monday that it will no longer use the star athlete to endorse such products as the Buick, whose emblem Woods has carried on his golf bag. The deal was thought to be worth about $7 million. GM says Woods agreed with the parting of ways because it will let him spend more time with his growing family.

Judge chastises Travis Henry for his spending. Former Denver Broncos player Travis Henry hopes a judge will change the $3,000 monthly payment order for one of his nine children. Henry, who’s not likely to play in the NFL again after he was charged with attempting to deal cocaine, says he’s unemployed and unable to kick out the cash for his son. “He’s got child support obligations across the country, and he’s got zero income,” lawyer Randall Kessler recently told a court. An earlier order from the judge observed that Henry spent $100,000 on a car and $146,000 for jewelry, and instructed him to establish a $250,000 trust fund. Henry’s appealing the order.

Larry Johnson spits out the truth about allegations.

The Kansas City Chiefs star who was recently accused of spitting alcohol in a woman’s face and threatening her boyfriend appears to have confirmed the reports. Running back Larry Johnson has apologized publicly in an appearance at the Chiefs headquarters, saying: “This is the first time in my life that I actually woke up and was kind of disgusted with myself and disgusted as far as the way my life and my career is headed right now.” Johnson, who won’t play in Sunday’s game versus the Jets, is also accused of shoving a woman at a club in another incident. “I’m going to work to that point to get my life back on track and know that I, and I alone, put myself in these critical situations and environments to where things don’t come out favorably to me,” he added. “All I can do is promise to you guys and to people who are watching that as a man, I’m still growing and as a man everyone makes mistakes.”

Evander Holyfield settles with son’s mother. Four-time heavyweight champ Evander Holyfield will establish a $100,000 college fund and pay private school tuition for his 10-year-old son after a child-support agreement this week. Holyfield made headlines after the boy’s mom Toi Irvin sued the boxer for non-payment months ago. The 46-year-old, who’s seeking to become the oldest boxer to win a heavyweight belt, reinstated health coverage for his son after letting it lapse. Irvin’s lawyer had publicly stated that he would petition the court to have Holyfield arrested if he didn’t comply with a support order. Holyfield also agreed to pay Randy Kessler’s $4,500 in attorney fees on the date of a scheduled hearing in Georgia.

Should T.I. have to pay more money to his babies’ mama?

Should T.I.’s longtime girlfriend, who knew him before he made it big, be able to share in the wealth now that he’s at the top of the rap game? T.I.’s ex-girl, LaShon Dixon thinks so, and she’s hoping an Atlanta judge will back her. A lawyer for Dixon says it’s unfair that T.I.’s oldest boys, who are 7 and 8, can have pretty much whatever they want when they are with their dad, but barely scrape by when they are with their mom. Dixon, who is currently unemployed, but usually works as a hairdresser, says she and her children should have the same kind of lifestyle they have when they visit their father. For his part, T.I. says he pays Dixon $2,000 a month and pays for the boys’ private school, sports, summer camp and medical bills. The rapper’s attorney claims Dixon chooses not to work – and that’s why things are so tough for her. A decision on the issue is due at any time. Should the judge rule in favor of Dixon?
