Kenyan Gang Riot Leaves 24 Dead Clashes between a violent Kenyan street gang and locals have left 24 dead and injured three others, reports CNN. According to police, the fighting began Monday, when residents resisted the gang’s efforts to remove people from the town of Karatina who are from nearby community. Police have arrest 37 people in connection with the violence and have confiscated several weapons. Some accuse the gang Mungiki (which means “multitude” in English), also known as the Kenyan mafia, of being one of the driving forces behind the country’s post-election violence in 2008 that killed thousands. Mungiki gang members have terrified many neighborhoods in the nation, shaking down locals and business owners alike, reports CNN. People who resist them usually suffer horrific deaths at the hands of the gang.
Is Guadeloupe At Risk of a Tsunami? The French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe is at risk of having a tsunami, according to a scientist from the United Kingdom, reports the BBC. The environmental disaster could be caused by the collapse of a volcano, called Morne aux Diables (Devil’s Peak) in nearby Dominica due to a landslide set off by a large earthquake. As a result, according to geologist Dr. Richard Teeuw, chunks of rock would fall into the sea which would cause the tsunami waves. Residents of the island would hardly have any time to escape to safe ground.

Ne-Yo will receive $700,320 in lost wages. The controversy over whether R. Kelly booted R&B star Ne-Yo from his January “Double Up” tour because of Ne-Yo’s talent or because of a technicality has ended with a price tag. An L.A. judge has ordered Kelly’s promoter, Rowe Entertainment, to pay Ne-Yo $700,320, in lost wages. Ne-Yo claimed Kelly was hatin’ because audiences were loving Ne-Yo’s opening set, while the promoter said paperwork was an issue – though it seems that fixing the paperwork might have been an obvious remedy. Rowe gave no response to the lawsuit filed under Ne-Yo’s given name, Shaffer Smith. So the producer and performer won by default. And he still gets to call R. Kelly a hater.
Skull Gang crew member denies being robbery victim. Depending on who you believe, the Skull Gang’s Juelz Santana lost an expensive necklace after a promoter evened the score on a debt, or Juelz was just treated rudely. The promoter allegedly lost $70,000 on a gig with Santana’s crew and later caught up with the Gang in the U.K. After reportedly attacking the rapper in his hotel room, but being held back by security, the promoter and his crew allegedly followed Santana to his new overnight spot and snatched the chain. Juelz says he wasn’t robbed, but that there was, indeed, a confrontation. He says the beef was about a gig paid in advance to his former manager, which never took place.

Scoring celebrations are suspected of disguising banger banter
The NFL is looking into the possibility of players delivering gang signals during their touchdown celebrations, reports the LA Times. “There have been some suspected things we’ve seen,” says Milt Ahlerich, the league’s vice president of security. “When we see it, we quietly jump on it immediately, directly with the team and the player or employee involved to cease and desist. Period.” The NBA’s Paul Pierce was suspected of having delivered a gang sign earlier this season, but it was later explained that Pierce had flashed his own hand symbol for “blood, sweat and tears.” Pierce was fined $25,000 for making “menacing gestures.” “We were always suspicious that might be happening,” says Mike Pereira, the NFL’s vice president of officiating. “But the Paul Pierce thing is what brought it to light. When he was fined … that’s when we said we need to take a look at it and see if we need to be aware of it.” The NFL has already reportedly addressed some players about the matter, but the suspected sign-flashers weren’t identified. Jacksonville’s Dennis Northcutt questions the wisdom of the league’s focus, according to the report: “People have got signs for their kids, signs for their fraternities. How do you differentiate who’s really throwing up gang signs?” Find out at Playa Hater.

James Posey joins New Orleans Hornets
The man who helped get Boston its first championship in decades will seek an NBA title ring with a third team. James Posey has agreed to a four-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets, worth an estimated $25 million. “It was really a tough decision for him,” says Mark Bartelstein, Posey’s agent. The sharp-shooter who grabbed his first title with the Miami Heat was said to be eager to play for another contender after Boston hesitated to show him the money, apparently due to a luxury tax.

His victims, who he was trying to smuggle into the United States, drowned during the ill-fated December 2006 voyage.
Reggae party is nearly a dance of death
A reggae party nearly turned into a dance of death at a Georgia home Saturday as bullets rang out in a room of about 100 people, wounding seven. Officials with the Rockdale, Ga., Sheriff’s office described the incident as a reggae party gone bad. Apparently people from Florida and a group from DeKalb County, Ga., were beefing shortly before the bullets started flying, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. After the smoke settled, six people were taken to the hospital and released, while one person was admitted. No arrests have been made, authorities said. That was the second shooting into a large crowd over the weekend.
A gunman fired into a Milwaukee crowd of at least 100 people
Four people were killed Sunday after somebody fired into a crowd of at least 100 people in Milwaukee, police say. Police are attributing the violence to a battle between rival gangs, saying that two of the victims, Kendrick L. Jackson, 34, and Jacoby E. Claybrooks, 28, were members of a Chicago gang that has killed two dozen people over the past decade, The Associated Press reports. The two women victims, Theresa Raddle, 23, and Marielle Fisher, 27, were two innocent people in the wrong place at the wrong time, police said. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is asking members of the community members need to step forward – even if it means turning in a family member, according to AP.

Former heavyweight champ wanted to take out hit after bodyguard’s death, witness says.

The former world heavyweight champ once offered $50,000 for the deaths of two men suspected of killing his bodyguard, a witness claims. Dwayne “Thor” Meyers, who formerly ran with the Cash Money Brothers street gang in Brooklyn, says Mike Tyson dangled the ransom for the deaths of two other gang members. Meyers made the allegation last week while testifying at the trial of a Cash Money member allegedly connected with two unrelated deaths. “We got word Mike Tyson and (another man) had both contributed $50,000 apiece for the murders of Cash Money Brothers,” Meyers testified. Meyers was indicted on drug and murder charges in 2005. Darryl “Homicide” Baum, Tyson’s bodyguard and friend was slain in 2000, just months after allegedly firing nine shots at rapper 50 Cent.
