Kanye West Denies Rumors of Porn Possibility
Kanye West won’t do bi-sexual scenes. Regardless of where the rumor began, Kanye West wants you to know it’s not true. He’s not planning to go the “Superhead” route and parlay his hop career into an adult film gig. West doesn’t know exactly who’s responsible for spreading the word, but he says hackers got into one of his Web spots and spread a number of lies. “I read some s–t claiming I said I’m down to do porn and some bi-sexual porn!…Welcome to Kanye West’s world!” At his Kanyeuniversity blog, the multi-platinum rapper rants on about his frequently mentioned belief that haters and critics are trying to bring him down. “Let me be great!” he writes. West was recently among the stars who performed at inauguration festivities in Washington for President Barack Obama. Among other topics, he mentions the appearance, all the while wondering what he’s done to attract detractors who’d make up terrible rumors about him.
 Urban Ball Cancelled for Lack of Sales
Ludacris gig goes bust in D.C. It’s a good thing that rapper Ludacris doesn’t lack much in the credit card department. The performer was set to host and perform at the “Urban Ball” this week in D.C. with Cedric the Entertainer, T-Pain, Fantasia and Monica among the celebs to appear. But the $350 price tag was apparently more than many guests were willing to pay: The event was cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Word has it that Luda was also stuck with the bill for his hotel room at the Marriott Wardman Park, where the bash was to take place after losing his comp credit.

With the housing market in the toilet, foreclosures on the rise and lenders keeping a tighter grip on mortgage money, hip-hop stars are still urging people to get their money right. The event, called Urging People to ‘Get Your Money Right!’” drew a crowd of about 2,000 people, who came out to get home finance tips Friday night from hop stars like Ludacris, Yung Joc, Gorilla Zoe, D. Woods and Danity Kane. Sponsored by music mogul Russell Simmons, along with mortgage consultants and entertainment figures, the Hip-Hop Summit at Clark Atlanta University is prequel to the Oct. 23 BET Hip-Hop Awards show. “There are opportunities out there, but people just don’t know about it,” Simmons said. “With financial stability, it’s a great time to buy when [housing prices are] low. It’ll pick back up in the long run.” The participants received a 86-page booklet, half in English and half in Spanish, stressing the importance of home ownership, a solid credit score and other vital steps for first time home buyers.

King’s former church protests leadership. A dispute at the church where the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King once preached his message of nonviolence, caused the National Park Service to handcuff one protester Sunday. A handful of church members protested Sunday morning in front of Ebenezer Baptist Church in a dispute over the ouster of the historic church’s choir director and demanding the Rev. Raphael Warnock step down as senior pastor. Carrying placards that read “Warnock Lies” and “Bring Back Dr. Uzee Brown,” a reference to the recently departed choir director who heads the Department of Music at Morehouse College, six protesters marched in front of the church on Sunday, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. One former choir member was handcuffed and taken away by National Park Service rangers in front of the church because she refused to leave the sidewalk. But she returned minutes later holding a criminal trespass warning. Church leaders said Warnock, who preached his first sermon at Ebenezer three years ago, wasn’t available for comment Sunday morning. But shortly after the 11 a.m. service started, a dozen members of the church’s board of deacons walked out of the modern Horizon Sanctuary and across Auburn Avenue to the historic church where the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. once preached his message of nonviolence. Deacon Chairman Phillip Finch said the officers and members of the church “stand firm” in support of Warnock. “The current protest by seven members of Ebenezer’s more than 3,000 members clearly does not represent the consensus of the body,” said the 55-year-old Finch, a lifelong member. The protestors, who included Choir President Lydia Walker, insisted that Warnock has shaken up the church staff without regard to the feelings of some longtime members. And they said he has refused to share the church’s finances with them. Warnock addressed the controversy during the 8 a.m. service, telling worshipers that while they might not understand everything he does, they must trust in his plans for the future. “Any effort to plant the seeds of dissension in the church is by definition a demonic effort,” he said to cheers from the congregation. “I’m glad that the devil has no power here.”

McCain retires inflammatory comments. Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain has toned down his rhetoric, even going so far as to tell supporters, Obama is “a decent man,”  and their is no reason to “fear” him. Get more at Pamela on Politics.

John McCain adviser fired for racist hip hop jabs.

The controversy over a Ludacris rap song in support of Barack Obama has circled back to haunt a John McCain supporter. McCain’s campaign released adviser Bobby May after he wrote a column in The Voice newspaper, attempting to poke fun at Obama’s Kenyan background and his support base among rappers. May quoted Luda’s controversial summer release, suggesting that Obama would hire the rapper to paint the White House black, if elected. He also joked that Obama would appoint 50 Cent treasury secretary and include daytime diva Oprah on the faces of currency. Luda’s lyrics were criticized this summer because of their tone against Obama’s opponents.

 Ludacris loses his pool house. No one was injured in the Fulton County fire that claimed rapper Ludacris’ pool house. The structure reportedly burned completely down, even though the blaze was extinguished within a half-hour. Ludacris wasn’t home at the time of the incident. The pool house was described by a fire official as being larger than most average residences.

Oprah lands role in “The Princess and the Frog.” Oprah Winfrey will return to her Southern roots with a voice part in a movie set in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Winfrey will help animate the character Eudora, mom of Princess Tiana in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. The talk show star also gave voice to the character Judge Bumbleton in 2007’s Bee Movie. The Princess and the Frog is set for release in 2009.
