Usher’s wife, Tameka Raymond, was released from a Sao Paulo hospital after spending nearly two weeks recovering from a cardiac arrest she suffered shortly before undergoing plastic surgery. A spokeswoman for the doctor who was to perform the plastic surgery said last week that Raymond suffered a cardiac arrest while being anesthetized ahead of a “simple liposuction” at Sao Paulo’s Sao Rafael Hospital. Sirio-Libanes Hospital said Wednesday that Tameka Raymond left the facility Monday night but declined to provide any details on Raymond’s treatment at the family’s request.  At first he said, “I ain’t telling if it’s a boy or a girl.” However, Usher recently confirmed that he and his wife, Tameka Foster, are adding additon to their family on Dec. 15 — another baby boy.  Speaking to reporters backstage at his Wednesday night concert at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia, the singer said, “It’s one of the best Christmas gifts there is.”  The 30-year-old singer and his wife welcomed their first child, Usher Raymond V, into the world a year ago.

Kimora Lee to receive $40,000 monthly in child support.
Entertainment and fashion mogul Russell Simmons has agreed to pay his ex-wife $40,000 a month in child support. No, that’s not a typo. Simmons’ daughters with “Fab Life” reality TV star Kimora Lee will be even more fab with their dad’s L.A. Superior Court-approved contributions. Ming Lee, 8, will be provided for until 2019, while Aoki, 5, will receive her checks until 2022. Forty G’s buys a lot of Fruity Pebbles.

R&B star Usher wants to go retro on film by playing late soul music artist Marvin Gaye. Usher won the Gaye part once before on the TV series “American Dreams.” “I want to be the person who tells the story of Marvin Gaye because I understand the conflict he had as a man,” Usher says. But it’s too late for the singer to compete in at least one project: Former “Law & Order” star Jesse L. Martin is set to play Gaye in a film produced by James Gandolfini, of “The Sopranos.” Director F. Gary Gray has also recently announced a biopic on the Motown Records legend.

DMX may lose New York townhouse in legal judgment.
On the heels of his recent arrest in Miami, rapper DMX has been hit with another blow. His Fifth Avenue townhouse will be sold this summer, unless X writes a check to pay a debt. The multi-platinum performer reportedly agreed to endorse a fashion line for dogs, but allegedly failed to show up for promotional appearances. The company that contracted him sued for $281,000. X bought the vacant townhouse as an investment, but it’s been ordered for sale as a means of settling his debt. As he occasionally showed on BET’s series “DMX: Soul of a Man,” the rapper welcomes prayers in the face of ongoing personal challenges.
