Detroit rapper denies “jacking” Yung Berg for chain

tricktrickdetroitrapper.jpg
Despite praise he’s received for his alleged involvement in a recent beat-down of rapper Yung Berg, Detroit’s Trick Trick says he wasn’t a participant. Berg was attacked at a club and robbed of his chain recently before his scheduled appearance at the annual “Summer Jamz” concert in Michigan. Trick has been applauded by fans still angry over Berg’s comments that he’s not attracted to dark-skinned ladies. Berg later apologized, but Trick says he’s innocent anyway. “Karma’s a motherf***er, so I’m not taking no n*gga’s sh**,” the rapper adds. “I earn mine…You can’t be saying, ‘F**k Trick Trick’ and you don’t like dark-skin women. I was gonna school the little n*gga to the ropes of the game! If you gonna take some notes, take notes from an OG. The lil’ homies got that trophy (the chain). I don’t want that sh**.”

Entertainment News: 50 Cent Discusses Fire That Caimed his Crib; Yung Berg Attacked Before Annual ‘Summer Jamz’

August 25th, 2008

50 Cent discusses fire that claimed his crib

Days after it was reported that he hadn’t made himself available to investigators, 50 Cent reportedly has discussed the fire that claimed his home. Lawyers for the rapper’s ex, Shaniqua Tompkins, recently put out word that Tompkins had been questioned about the spring blaze on multiple occasions, but that Fiddy wasn’t talking. Tompkins, who lived with their son at the home the rapper owned, suggested that 50 was behind the fire. The house was the subject of a heated legal dispute between the rapper and his son’s mom. No charges have been issued in connection with the blaze, but investigators called it suspicious.

Yung Berg

It’s been a heck of a year for Yung Berg. After suffering the apparent fan backlash from his public dis of dark-skinned women – for which he apologized – Berg was recently charged with threatening his limo driver, and now is the rumored victim of an assault. Detroit rapper Trick Trick is alleged to have jumped Berg while the performer was in Michigan for a Radio One station’s annual “Summer Jamz” concert. Trick Trick is developing quite the reputation for his temper after jumping Miami rapper Trick Daddy in Detroit a few years ago. Maybe they got a little territorial about that “trick” thing.

Entertainment News: Yung Berg Arrested For Allegedly Carrying Weed, Gun; Sammy Davis Jr. Died Still Millions In Debt

August 12th, 2008

Rapper appears to be under “dark butts” curse.

Yung Berg

Yung Berg faces more troubles than just fan backlash after he was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, marijuana and menacing after a dispute with his limo driver. Berg is still suffering after he made comments dissing dark-skinned women and was subsequently booed at a Dallas show and practically ignored by D.C. fans, who barely turned out for a promo event. Berg’s limo driver reportedly called cops after the argument with the rapper. Police at the scene arrested Berg on the drug and gun charges.

Yung Berg Bites Bitter Pill Over ‘Butts’ Backlash

August 1st, 2008

Rapper’s turnout suffers in wake of complexion comments.

Yung Berg
Despite a videotaped, Web-posted apology, Yung Berg appears to be suffering backlash from recent comments he made about dark-skinned women. He offered what appeared to be heartfelt regrets for saying, among other things, “I don’t do dark butts,” in an interview a few weeks back. Berg even went on to explain that his mother is dark — and so were the lights at a recent promo appearance. Berg’s turnout was only about 10 people at the D.C. Platinum Club, according to Web reports. Even with heavy radio advertisement of the event, the club shut down so early that a few stragglers were turned away before the scheduled 1 a.m. close. Is Berg getting what he deserves?

Entertainment News: Yung Berg Says He’s Sorry For Color-Struck Comments; Too Short Reached Agreement With Family of Crash Victim

July 16th, 2008

Rapper apologizes for disparaging “dark butts” remarks.
Yung Berg

A rapper who may have taken the Black community back 50 years with his disparagement of dark complexions has apologized. Yung Berg stated: “I’m kinda racist…I don’t really like dark butts too much…It’s rare that I do dark butts. … No darker than me. …Any woman that uses brown gel to set down her baby hair is not poppin’.” After getting major blowback for his ignorance, Berg went YouTube, saying, “My mother, she’s a lovely, dark-skinned lady. … I hope I didn’t offend any of my fans or anybody that got love for the whole YB.”

Too Short reached agreement with family of crash victim
Veteran West Coast rapper Todd “Too Short” Shaw may lose his Oakland recording digs over a $1 million debt owed to an accident victim’s survivors. The family of James Ellerbee reached the civil court agreement with Too Short in 1996, five years after the rapper was involved in a crash that took Ellerbee’s life. A court found that Short Dog wasn’t directly responsible for the accident, but he was legally drunk at the time it occurred. He has yet to pay the settlement.
