there is nothing new about this article when it was Nixon that was elected President in 1968 using what is called “Nixon’s southern stategy” That is why most whites in the south are republicans.During the 30s’ 40s’ and 50s most whites were democrats but Nixon played on the fears of whites in the south and convinced them to become republicans.
