sounds like someone got disorderly after she cut in line, then resisted arrest and assaulted a cop. im perfectly fine with the felony charges. having extensive experience with the criminal justice system, from both sides of the courtroom, i can tell you that the DA was doing her a favor with the DC misdemeanor. when she turned it down, she basically said ‘id rather stand trial for the felony’ which is what she will do. she sounds like a moron.

Jake, even if you believe the events as reported by the police (which I highly doubt given the police’s proclivity to lie or stretch the truth) do you honestly think she deserves 15 years in prison? That’s manslaughter time we’re looking at for a petty offense! I don’t believe most DA’s would even bother trying to prosecute a honor student when you have murderers, raptists, molesters, and other wanton minded criminals running around. In these times of budgetary restraints, I don’t want to waste my tax dollars prosecuting petty offenses! Especially on a promising student!!!!!

I rarely comment on stories like this, however Jake you sound like an absolute fool. I don’t know what position you held “on both sides of the courtroom” ( or maybe you meant you’ve been a plaintiff and a defendant), but as someone who actually went to law school and knows the facts of the case (at least those that are available), there is no justification at all for felony charges. Even if you accept the facts as presented by the police(which are b.s.), there is nothing that warrants what they are attempting to do to this woman. Doing her a favor? Absolutely ridiculous. How about you educate yourself, in general and about this case, before you comment next time. If you think that turning down a misdemeanor means “I’d rather stand trial for a felony” (???) then you are in no position to be calling anyone a moron, moron.
