Hello Tyrone, I agree that President Obama has some huge challenges, no doubt about it. But to say he is facing the biggest challenges that have ever plagued this Country ,is a huge over statement. Have you ever heard of the Great Depression. 16 MILLION PEOPLE UNEMPLOYED,and almost every bank in the country were closed. That is what President Franklin D. Roosevelt had to deal with. Industrial production fell by 45%, home building dropped by 80% from 1929-1932. 5,ooo banks went out of business. I won’t even elaborate on a little thing called the Dust Bowl, or that little thing called World War ll, WHERE 72 MILLION LIVES were lost around the world. The point is Tyrone, President Obama and his staff have a huge challenge ahead of them, but to say it is the biggest challenge to ever plague this country, would mean you don’t know much about U.S. HISTORY. My name is Joseph P. Carranza ( 46 ). I was shocked, and horrified to learn, that my Second Cousin, Brian Carranza, is accused in connection with this tragic incident.

I feel it is my obligation, to speak on behalf of the entire Carranza Family, to convey our deepest, most heart-felt sympathies for the victims of this crime.

The community at large, should be properly apprised, that the Carranza Family, has historically been one which recognized the injustice/s of racial discrimination, and/or, racial prejudice, and/or, racial hatred, and has historically taken great care to act accordingly.

Racial prejudice is no stranger to our family. My great-grandfather, Miguel Carranza, ( Brian’s great-great grandfather ), immigrated from Mexico, to the U.S., with his young family, at the time of The Mexican Revolution.

My grandfather, Alfredo Raoul Carranza, ( Brian’s great-grandfather ), was disowned, for nothing more than the act of marrying my grandmother, Elsie Carranza, ( Brian’s great-grandmother ), a Puerto Rican, while simultaneously, Alfredo’s many brothers were exalted, for their acts of marrying women of various European Ancestries.

Brian’s father, is of Mexican, and Puerto Rican heritage, and his mother, is of Italian heritage. Hence, Brian is himself, a descendant of several ethnic groups who have suffered the myriad hardships concomitant to racial intolerance in the U.S..

It may be a development which some would find difficult to contemplate at this point of great tumult, however, I am confident that as the facts of this case are revealed in greater detail, it will become quite clear, that young Brian was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that he, in fact, acted to the best of his ability, in a manner intended to prevent racial violence,….and in fact not in a manner intended to escalate the same.

In closing, I submit that I have the utmost confidence, that Brian will ultimately be exonerated, and the charges and case against him dropped, predicated on the fact, that it is simply not within the basic nature, and/or, basic orientation of any member of this family, to commit the act/s of which he is accused.

Joseph, with all due respect,if your cousin is guilty then why should he be exonerated? A hardship to me is not being able to pay a bill, or not able to buy groceries. This was a choice that your cousin made. So it is what it is. If you can’t do the time, then don’t commit the crime. The operative term in the above-listed statement, is “IF”.

I did not, by my previous statement, ( Joseph Carranza said on January 8th, 2009 ), intend to suggest that any individual, ( to include my Second Cousin, Brian ), should be permitted to commit crimes, with impunity.

Hence, if your position is that the GUILTY should be convicted,….I could not agree more.

As it stands at this moment, an accusation has been made, and guilt has not been proven / established on the record of the case.

Pursuant to a basic, fundamental principle of American Jurisprudence, an individual is innocent until PROVEN guilty.

Let us take care not to convict Brian in the court of public opinion, in advance of a proper showing of facts sufficient to establish proof positive, his guilt, for if we are willing to condemn the accused upon mere accusation, we are plunged head-long instantly, into the days of the Spanish Inquisition, and the Maleus Malificarum, ( also known as “The Witches Hammer” ), complete with all of the myriad abuses and/or, horrors inherent therein.

Pursuant to which, the accused was neither able to confront his accusers, produce witnesses in his favor, obtain effective counsel for his defense, or entitled to any other element/s of Due Process of Law,…..and neither was his accuser legally obligated to verify the accusation by and through a properly sworn and/or, affirmed allegation, or to clearly set forth with specificity, the act/s which constitute the crime or offense alleged to have been committed, etc.,…..rather, the purpose of a trial, was not to prove and/or, establish guilt, but rather, to merely extract a confession from the accused, ( often by and through torture ), so that the accused can be promptly convicted, and subjected to punishment, ( often, to cruel and unusual punishment ), and/or, death.

It is extremely unlikely, that there are many among us, who would favor the application of this form of “justice”, in THEIR individual cases, should they ever be saddled with such.

I am in agreement with many others who have expressed concerns regarding how the facts of this matter have been clearly misrepresented by the so-called Major-Media. Clearly, this is not a case involving “3 WHITE MEN”. As I stated before, Brian, although light-skinned, is half Hispanic, and there seems also to be an absence of classical “Whiteness”, in at least one other defendant.

By reporting on this matter in the manner set forth above, the Major-Media, of Pat Tillman, Jessica Lynch, Operation Northwoods, Gulf of Tonkin, Anthrax Scare, and World Trade Center Building Seven fame, ( just to name a few ), continues to expose itself to an ever increasing segment of the American Population, as an instrument not worthy of the slighest consideration.
