I agree with almost everyone that has commented, but we need to be careful that we don’t allow hypocrisy to discredit our great insights and perspectives as we inform many Americans of where they may be insensitive regarding black people as a whole. There is always a tendency to group every one from a certain group into one bunch. When we say “White folks” it may imply that all “white people” feel a certain way. We, who have experienced racial prejudice can identify with white people who might read a statement like that and say “I don’t feel that way. Why are they assuming that all white folks are the same? Its easy to do and hard to justify. Most people who suffer from racial intolerance do so because its easier to put people in groups and label them than it is to reserve judgment until you get to know them individually. We must never find ourselves guilty of the very hatred that we ourselves despise.
