‘Vigilante’ Inmate Murder Probe Widens
July 3rd, 2008FBI and Maryland officials join forces to determine how the Maryland inmate died.
The “vigilante justice” case of a Maryland cop-killer suspect who was found strangled to death in his cell has expanded to include everybody working at the D.C.-area jail. Initially, authorities announced that seven corrections officers who had access to Ronnie White were under investigation for the 19-year-old inmate’s death. White, who was held in solitary confinement, was discovered in his cell Sunday with two broken bones in his neck; he died from asphyxiation and strangulation, according to a Maryland medical examiner. Two days prior, White had been arrested and charged in the hit-and-run death of Prince George’s County police Cpl. Richard Findley. According to police, White, who was driving a stolen truck, struck the officer, who tried to flag the vehicle down. Prince George’s County Chief Executive Jack Johnson, who described White’s death as a case of “vigilante justice,” said that the suspect’s apparent payback killing is inexcusable. “The killing of the officer is absolutely abhorrent, but also, Mr. White was presumed innocent and deserved his day in court just like any other citizens,” Johnson said. “We live in a constitutional democracy, and no one has the right to be judge and jury.” The FBI, which is working with Maryland State Police, said Tuesday that all 630 staffers at the Prince George’s County Correctional Center will be part of the investigation. Several guards have said they will not talk to investigators, according to Ramon Korionoff, a spokesman for Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Glenn Ivey. “The family of Ronnie White is absolutely, unequivocally outraged, incensed and deeply saddened that the life of their loved one could be taken so cold[ly], so callously,” attorney Bobby Henry told reporters Tuesday. “Something is dreadfully wrong with the system.”

It is a sad day and time when incidents such as these come about…on the regular. True-in-deed this was a chain of events initiated by senseless criminal acts to begin with (stolen vehicle->hit-and-run->death->arrest->vigilante act->death)noone wins; however, what has happened to or have we ever developed the moral fibers that govern a civil-i-zation? Note: Civil. We are in our last days. It is evident by our “progressive regression”. My heart goes out to both families- the slain officer who died senselessly in the line of duty and to the young man who died at the hands of the senseless.
Once Again…. HE couldnt have said it better!!!
ONCE AGAIN…. couldnt have said it better!
Well it wasn’t the police that did it.. it was the prison staff that was involved and thay will pay for it
To Gary, I like your “once again” minnie lecture.
But it all comes down to the authorities acted out in anger and they will suffer the consiquences. Both lives were taken and yes it was bad the way the office had to loose his life and yes sad the way the authorities choose to take anothers life. Cops need to understand their oath that they have taken “to protect and serve” I guess this is what it really stands for (they protected the officer that was killed and they served the murderer) WOW! Living in America! We need real justice! PRAY! I don’t care how you look at this prejudice still exist. And if you never experience it than lucky for you or maybe you just overlooked it and didn’t realized. But I’m a very outgoing individual and I pay close attention to my surrounding and the people I’m exposed to on a daily basic. Because a lot of them have what I call “hidden prejudice factors” within!!!!!!
In America it sometimes seems like the legal system is used to protect whites and to punish blacks. I know that the law isn’t supposed to work that way…but sometimes that’s the outcome.
Another example of the “law” being well above and beyond the law. No matter how deep the investigation goes cops are worse than any gansters when it comes to a code of silence. They’ve probably already designated who will take any kind of fall to be taken by one of their own! If for only one month precincts could be secretly bugged and the audio released on YOUTUBE and several other internet mediums (the networks would be stopped way before any substantial amount of footage gets out) what would be revealed would completely boggle the minds of “forever” niave public listeners! The level of corruption, complicitness and overall corrosion of our American justice system. This was nothing more than a classic example of an eye for an eye people. Remember that, its no more complicated than that….All the other talk is just superficial rhetoric providing good 6 o’clock sound bytes!
Another black man dead, becouse crooked white cops let the courts do they job.
This is a redundant issue, we all see this daily in all our larger states and the outcrys fall on deaf ears. The law allots this from the writings of the constitution, the bill of rights, the common law of england and judicially the system is a genocide charta for the demise of blacks. Until we as a nation of people take a stand against the handwritings of the rich slaveowners that set the stage and design against a particular human race, we need to quit acting out on particular and handpicked cases such as this. It’s on the table the people have voted for those that represent “justus” and until we revise the beginnng of the generation of destruction to the blacks we are crying in vain. The legislation from state to state should be on one page of humane treatment, but only in a perfect world, right? Well let us strive toward this and go right to the source the insane injustice of the design of the genocide of blacks.
This is jacked up.
This is more jacked up.

Another sad story of 2 lives lost, but who the hell gives these fake ass wanna b police the right 2 take another life that they r supposed 2 b watching? thats crazy, but like we all know they will get there’s one way or another, and who knows somebody might break down and snitch once there job is put on da line.
And they wander why minority do not respect LAW ENFORCEMENT!!
PG is on the outskirts of DC. PG police have a long history of doing things like this. A lot of us here have a story or two to tell.
If we had more cops and corrections officers like the ones in this jail, the world would be a better place. The useless piece of trash they killed was a burden on society. We are better off without him.
Im glad the bastard is dead. I could only hope that if I or a loved one of mine were to fall that my fellow officers would handle it accordingly.
Female Black Cop and RM maybe next time it will be your kids….Ummm somtething to think about. It’s cops like you that make this brother actions look like a hero ….Think about that!
I won’t ever have to worry about this being my kids because my kids will not grow up to be worthless thug/crack dealing/convict pieces of trash like Ronnie White. Hopefully, this will send a message to future wannabe cop killers. I’m just sorry that the same fate has not met Mumia,Joanne Chesimard etc…
And yes, it is true that just because someone is charged does NOT mean they are guilty. That is, unless they are a Duke lacrosse player. Have a nice day.
