what people fail to realize is that no matter who you are or how famous you are, there are family members who do not want to be accountable to anyone. Business is business, you can’t perserve a family legacy if one member is going to do things without regards to who it is going to affect. I’m sure it was hard for Bernice and her brother to have to take legal intervention but you also can’t stand by and allow one person to destroy what took years to build up either. My mother came from a large family and when her mother passed, one of the brothers took it upon himself to take resources that should have been split among the siblings and not just one person. This always causes confusion and hard feelings among family members. I do agree the King Siblings should come together but you can’t make grown people do what they should which is why there is legal intervention.

I did not take your posting personally. None of this blogging is personal. And likewise I don’t know you either but I too stand behind everything that I said! This blog is for ALL to state opinions and to make our individual judgments!!! You made yours and I made mine. There is a fine line between judgment and opinion. If the King offspring were truly using WISDOM this would not be a public fight. They are giving interviews discussing private family matters and providing private financial documents for the media. Family matters should stay in the family. When the courts get involved there is always more trouble and harder feelings. You should never have to involve the law to deal with personal family matters. Perhaps the fact that they were estranged contributed to the breach? Why were they estranged? Why couldn’t they talk? Pride played a big part I’m sure. Why did they fall apart when the mom and other sister passed? This is a stain on the King’s legacy!!! Have they ever held real jobs? Busy sitting around counting daddies money. Well its obvious tha Sis Coretta left Dex in charge of everything for whatever reason. Shoot, she even died on his birthday which was really odd to me. He apportions his siblings their yearly stipend some $450,000 each. What they complaining about? The public will continue to fund this monument and the King generation for as long as they live. There were several people who shared scripture before and after my blog. Some I agree with and some I don’t. It is the nature of blogging as you know for people to have several opinons. I don’t recall singling out you or anyone else to say you were wrong or right. But, I will say that I am entitled to share my opinions as you in the manner that I see fit, and you and no one else will change that. I love the King family too but I will let no one tell me how to define my opinions just as I wouldn’t ask you or any one else to change your opinions. I agree with Bernice and Martin Jr. Not to take anything away from Dexter, but If everthing was on the up and up, then there should be no problem is turning over the documents. When people are wrong, they tend to defend their actions and play that shouting game of why don’t you believe me. I think they need to continue on in what they are doing because if they don’t fight to keep the corporation functioning properly, then someone will say Kings children had no control over the money and lost everything. They could not keep the legacy alive. Either way, they would be looked at as doing something wrong. Basically you can’t win for losing.

Bernice, Martin Jr. keep doing what your’re doing, make sure the corporation is running right and I hope and pray that Dexter will get over it and you all can be a family again. Be reminded what the Word of God says: “For the Love of money, is the root of all evil…” 1 Timothy 6:10. Don’t let the money tear the family apart. Keep God 1st in all you do.

Why would anyone be naive enough to think that MLK’s children would have privacy in a matter such as this? Their father and mother were the greatest public figures in America, therefore, their children won’t be far behind. I don’t think they had a choice because the media know that they will make money from any news they publish about the King family, hence, they published it. Bernice and Martin III did what they had to do, if Dexter wouldn’t cooperate as he should have, his siblings only did what they had to do. When we can’t resolve matters ourselves we should take them to a court of law.

I know that their parents cannot rest for all the mess that is going on between their Grown Adults. I know that Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wishes that he could just come back and punch all of them in their eye, nose, ears or something. He would then be able to go back and rest. Those who believe in the power of Prayer, I implore you to keep the King children in Prayer. Praying that God will help them to mend fences, resolve their issues, and unite them together in oneness. All families have problems that sometimes can only be resolved with the assistance of the court system. It is better to seek resolution within the Law than to take matters into your hands. In closing I will be praying that the King children come to some agreement and reunite.
