Bernice King Says Family Had To Sue Her Brother
July 22nd, 2008The siblings have been squabbling over their famous parents’ estate
In the latest verbal volley between the children of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Martin III and Bernice King said that they had to sue Dexter King in order to preserve their father’s legacy and the family estate. “We love our brother, yet we cannot ignore our responsibility to ensure that the corporation we are all shareholders and directors of is properly managed,” they told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution through a statement from their attorney, Josh Smith. “Our right to obtain corporate documents that we have personally requested in the past few years, and more recently in the lawsuit that we have filed, have been continuously ignored.” Go to BET.com/News for more on this story. Its such a shame to be reading about this issue when it could have been handled privately. My father once made a comment that the problem with the African Americans in the USA is that there are no Elders to take the responsibility of facts and deligate issues the way it should be with out taking sides based on bribery or support of the other. Why should people like Andrew Young and Jessie Mouthy Jackson be alive and see such taking place. There is an old African saying that goes like this ” you hide the faults of your own from escaping to the outsiders, no matter what ever it may be” for thats how your enemys and outsiders know of your weak points.
I mean really, this is so unnecesary. And what do they hope to prove by airing their family business?
Sometimes peace makes no peace & reverse that & you get
disagreements with Strategic objectives to enhance the success of the organization both in the present and in the future.

I am sorry that you took my posting of scripture personally, I don not know you or anyone else on this blog! However, I am sticking by what I said. Dr. King’s children are human as you and I. In my situation because I am not famous, it was not placed in the news. The King Family is famous, and their “laundry got “played out in the open. by the media They have the right as you and I do to request accountability to one another. When that doesn’t happen you use WISDOM and in this case it is the legal system to to do the next best thing. Let’s pray for the King children rather than bash them. My posting was not about me Sechris, it was about looking at the King family without judjing them . May you have a blessed day also,sechris!

Money is the root of ALL evil. Now why does this take place in families? This is just an embarassement to the MLK legacy. This should not be, really it hurts my heart to see this sibling rivalry go on in such a respected family.
I pray that they will come together in prayer and be reunited in love, trust, peace and joy.

We as Americans, should know by now that everything in America is Directly or Indirectly involved or related to “MONEY, SEX, MURDER, GREED, THEFT, DECEIT and LIES”, in that order. It is indeed a shame and a disgrace what the King siblings are doing. I am personally concerned as to the validity of this “witch hunt of embrassment”…
to Dr. MLK legecy…..but they are Americans and they are part of the American “OBLIVIOUS” culture…whether we (they) like it or not, it is a fact…..move on.

This is called FLESH MESS plan and simple, they have fogotten the WORD and what they were taught.
I am diguested by the King’s children behavior. I was fortunate in 1984 to go and meet Mrs. King from a essay contest I won. Now, to see such childish behavior spillover to the media is beyond words.
Please get it together and be an example to young people. This is not how you resolve family matters. Sit down and have a family discussion on how to handle this calmly.
Come on now. I am s sure that their parents wouldn’t won’t them doing all the things that they are doing. I mean they should be trying to pick up where their father left ann try to make things better instead of suing each other. That is soooooo crazy.
I HOPE AND AND PRAY YTHAT EVERYTHING WILL OUT FOR THEM ALL . AND THAT THEY CAN RESOLVE THIER DIFFRENTSCENCES AND BE A LOVING AND CARING FAMILY AGAIN.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope(Jeremiah 29:11). I will not say “this or that”, but I will say Let’s all pray that the will of God be done in this familys life. God does not sleep nor does he slumber, he is a all knowing God and he will get his Glory. Enough said.
I too am not enamored with their behavior. Unfortunately family can be a source of tension through disagreements on who should have what and it is a shame that these issues grow big enough to cause division. It goes to show you that even finances can break the best in families too bad.
