Web-Based Movement Wants to Block Obama’s Move to White House

November 29th, 2008

Obama

Before Barack Obama officially becomes president, the Electoral College has to vote him in on December 15. The Electoral College is an appointed body created by the founding fathers, to be the last safeguard with the voting power to certify or reject the President-elect after the American public votes for him or her on Election Day. Now, a small group, mostly based in the South, has started an Internet campaign questioning Obama’s citizenship, claiming that he was born in Kenya. State officials in several states report receiving an increased number of letters from citizens requesting the name, identity and contact info for their states reps to the Electoral College. Traffic on one Web site supporting the campaign, Obamacrimes.com, has spiked to 105 million hits since Election Day, reports the Christian Science Monitor. Former presidential hopeful Alan Keyes is involved in the movement and lawsuits have been filed in two states in an effort to block Obama’s presidency. “People are going after electors now because they can only vote for a qualified candidate, and [Obama] hasn’t shown he’s qualified,” says Philip Berg of Lafayette Hill, Pa., a Democrat and lawyer who has filed two lawsuits calling Obama’s citizenship into question. Experts say the chances of Electoral College members voting against the will of the people are next to none.  But the movement’s members are actively contacting Electoral College voters, with audacity and hope, in a last-ditch effort to switch the outcome of the historic ‘08 elections.

Just what you’d expect from the South. I’m not the least surprised that they are trying to block Obama’s presidency. He has already proven his US citizenship the rest is just noise. THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE WAS SPOKEN ON 11/4/08 AND THE ELECTORIAL COLLEGE MEMBERS BETTER REMEMBER THAT WHEN THEY VOTE ON DECEMBER 15TH.

He deserves just as much right to be our president as any WHITE MAN! Just because he’s a different race doesn’t make him any less of a qualified person. He’s a very bright man with the people’s welfare at heart. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!

He won fair and square, that should be th end of it. There is no reason why he shouldnt become the next president. People need to face the facts, and get over it. If they dnt like it, move to another country. If for some reason this lawyer succeeds in his effort to stop our president elect from taking his rightful place in history, I am going to changemy major and devote my life to making sure we have more black people i politics. I am pissed.

This is bs because Obama needed 200+ ‘Electoral Votes’ in order to win the election, and they already voted for him. So this claim seems absured.

I am not surprised. White people are going to act up until the last minute. The American people voted him into office and you all need to grow up act like the adults you think you are and except the fact that we are going to have an African-American president. HE WON fair and square and they are very ignorant trying to keep him out of office.

OMG!!! Give me a break! This country and it’s lack of accepting change is really going to ruin it one day. Times are changing, give it up already!

I see the south is still full of neanderthals. They need to go on back to their sister-wifes or whichever beast from the animal kingdom they are having sex with and leave the rest of us who do not have a third eye in the middle of our foreheads alone! BTW, I don’t suppose Bubba and ‘em realize that while Obama was born in Hawaii two years after it became the 50th state, McCain was NOT born in this country. Oh, well, why confuse them further with facts. Bet their very favorite movie of all time is “Deliverance.”

Why is that as soon as a man from another ethnic background takes the spotlight, it becomes such a controversy. I don’t care who are the Electoral, the American people have spoken and they did so loud and clear. Barack Obama is what they said.
